Ohio Christian University Women's Basketball

Coach Simpson is originally from Harrodsburg, Kentucky, where he graduated from Mercer County Senior High School. Following graduation, he continued his basketball career at Campbellsville University, where he played for two years. He brings four years of high school coaching experience and one year of AAU coaching experience. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Adult and Higher Education.  He is grateful for the opportunity to lead, guide, and coach the OCU Women's Basketball Team. He is committed to bringing energy, excitement, enthusiasm, and motivation to both the sideline and the university community. His vision is to build a strong, positive culture where student-athletes can grow academically, athletically, mentally, and spiritually. A guiding verse in his life and coaching philosophy is Phillippians 3:12-14:  "Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Outside of basketball, Simpson values spending time with his wife, Ceri, and his family, growing in his faith, and continuing to develop personally and professionally. He believes in maintaining a growth mindset and being a lifelong learner in all areas of life.   

Coach Caldwell is a proud alumna of Ohio Christian University and life-long runner whose journey on and off the track has been shaped by faith, community, and an unshakable love for the sport. She is bringing 4 years of teaching and coaching experience from Liberty Christian Academy and Teays Valley Middle School/ High School.  Some of her personal athletic accomplishments include becoming a Mid-State League Champion in the long jump, school record setter in both the 4x200m and 4x400m relays, and a state qualifier. She continued her running career here at OCU where she contributed to the cross-country team’s qualification for the NAIA National Championship meet, set the 600m school record, and was an RSC Indoor Track and Field All Conference (1st Team) honoree in the DMR.  Coach Caldwell currently resides in Ashville, Ohio with her husband Austin and 3-year-old son Henry, who just recently competed in his first mile-long race, and one-year-old son Ezra, who can’t wait to start running himself.  

Chester Mientkiewicz is in his fourth year as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the men's and women's cross country and track teams. Chester graduated with cum laude honors from Ohio Christian University in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.  While at OCU, Chester was a member of the cross country and track and field teams, in which he is the former school record holder in the 3,000m steeplechase, was a member of the 2021 and 2022 RSC Champion distance medley relay teams and the Champion of Character recipient in 2018 and 2021. Chester earned ten All-RSC awards throughout his cross country and track career. He also qualified for the NCCAA Cross Country National Championship in 2018 and 2019.  Prior to coming to Ohio Christian, Chester worked as the Head Fitness Instructor for the 366th Fighter Wing Squadron in the U.S. Air Force from 2017-2018. He also worked as a Volunteer Cross Country Coach at Pymatuning Valley High School in 2014.  Since graduating, Chester has been working as a full-time Groundskeeper at OCU. Chester resides in South Bloomfield, Ohio.
