YEAR: 29th in 2023-24 PREVIOUS COLLEGE: Asbury '92 and Eastern Kentucky '94 AT OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY Led the Panthers to a 34-22 overall record and a 20-4 conference record. The Black and Gold were regular season G-MAC Champions and the number one seed in the conference tournament. ODU made an appearances in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year. Vanlandingham coached six players to All-Conference Honors, including Player of the Year, one NFCA Division II All-Midwest Regional First Team honoree, and two D2CCA All-Midwest Region Team members. Was awarded 2023 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. She reached the 800 win milestone with a pair at Ursuline College. Vanlandingham is the 16th active Division II head coach to reach 800 wins. In 2022, the Black and Gold went 35-19 with an impressive 19-3 finish the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Panthers won their second consecutive G-MAC Softball tournament, making another appearance in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region tournament. During the 2021 season, ODU went 30-18 overall and 13-9 in the conference.  The Panthers were seeded sixth in the G-MAC tournament, going undefeated to win the tournament, securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Black adn Gold went 2-2 int he Midwest Regional that season. In the 2019 season, Vanlandingham reached the 700 win milestone in a win against Lake Erie in the final regular-season game of the season. That game also clinched her first G-MAC title since joining the league in 2017. In 2014, Vanlandingham guided the Panthers to the team’s first GLIAC regular season title as ODU completed conference play with a 21-5 record. ODU competed in the GLIAC tournament as the number one seed and finished as the tournament runner-up. Vanlandingham and the Panthers earned the right to play in the NCAA Regional tournament, their first appearance in school history. For the team’s performance during the 2014 campaign, Vanlandingham was honored as the GLIAC Coach of the Year for the first time. Ushering in the Panthers to the NCAA Division II level in 2011, Vanlandingham led the Panthers to four GLIAC tournaments, a conference tournament championship appearance, a GLIAC regular-season championship, and an NCAA national tournament appearance. Following her arrival at ODU, Vanlandingham quickly turned the softball program into a regional power. Beginning in 2001, she guided the Panthers to a streak of eight consecutive American Mideast Conference titles, including Region IX titles and NAIA World Series appearances in 2002 and 2005. The Panthers have won 10 or more conference games in 14 seasons under Vanlandingham, including a perfect AMC mark of 14-0 and a school-record 45 wins in 2005. Upon completing her Master's degree in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 1994, Vanlandingham returned to her alma mater to teach. During her one year at Asbury, she was also the assistant softball and volleyball coach, before coming to Ohio Dominican in the fall of 1995. A native of Milton, Florida, Vanlandingham served as the AMC softball chair seven times during her 15-year tenure in the conference and was the NAIA Region IX softball from 2007 to 2009. YEAR: 1st in 2026  PREVIOUS COLLEGE: The Ohio State University ‘24 and University of Kentucky ‘25  BEFORE OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY:  Bump brings Power Five playing experience, strong leadership skills, and a deep commitment to athlete development after a successful collegiate playing career at both Ohio State University and the University of Kentucky.  A native of Edison, Ohio, Bump spent four standout years at Ohio State, where she was a consistent presence in the Buckeyes’ lineup. She compiled a career .300 batting average with 21 doubles, two triples, and seven home runs. In her senior season in 2024, she posted a .336 batting average and a .410 on-base percentage in Big Ten play—ranking second on the team—and added a career-high five home runs and 24 RBIs. She recorded 12 multi-hit games that season, including back-to-back three-hit performances against Wisconsin.  Following her undergraduate career, Bump transferred to the University of Kentucky to compete as a graduate senior during the 2025 season, taking advantage of her final year of NCAA eligibility. At Ohio State, Bump was named a team captain and selected as a “Lead Like a Buckeye” leadership representative. She was a Dean’s List honoree and an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete while earning her degree in Marketing. Off the field, she completed a summer internship with Learfield through the Bucks Go Pro 1.0 program.   McKenzie currently volunteers with Gilead Friends Church, works as a receptionist at Maple Run Veterinary Clinic, and serves as a private softball instructor.

Madison Kennedy

YEAR: 1st in 2026  PREVIOUS COLLEGE: Mount St. Joseph University ‘25  BEFORE OHIO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY:  Kennedy joins the Ohio Dominican University softball program as a Graduate Assistant for the 2025-26 season after a decorated NCAA Division III playing career at Mount St. Joseph University, a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC).  Kennedy was a three-time HCAC All-Tournament Team selection (2022, 2023, 2024), earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2022, and was named to the HCAC All-Sportsmanship Team in 2024. She led the Lions with a .403 batting average in 2022 and posted a team-high in RBIs in 2023. Over her career, Kennedy secured her place in the Mount St. Joseph record books, ranking in the program’s top 10 in games played, at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, triples, and RBIs.  Academically, Kennedy graduated magna cum laude and was named to the Dean’s List all seven semesters. She also earned the Top First-Year Student-Athlete Award, recognizing her excellence in both academics and athletics.  Off the field, she gained valuable hands-on experience in education through student teaching and substitute teaching roles. At Mount St. Joseph, Kennedy was actively involved on campus as an orientation leader and a member of the intramural staff, while also working as a server at Wings and Rings.  At Ohio Dominican, Kennedy will assist with player development, recruiting, practice planning, and day-to-day operations while pursuing her graduate studies.
