Head Coach

Schaubs tenure. Since 2013 the Buckeyes have received 26 Ohio State Scholar-Athlete honors, 17 Academic All-Big Ten awards, 12 ITA Scholar-Athlete mentions and five Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades. The team has earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards, given to teams scoring in the Top 10 percent in their sport based on multi-year Academic Progress Rates, during each season Schaub has been at the helm. In the community, the Buckeyes give back by volunteering with a number of organizations, including Buddy Up Tennis and Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research. In 2014-15 the Buckeyes had a then-school record tying 20 wins (with just seven losses) and had 11 shutouts during the year. The Buckeyes finished second in the Big Ten, posting a 10 wins in league play, and advanced to the Big Ten Tournament championship match for the first time since 2004. The squad ended the year ranked 21st, the first time in the Top 25 of the final poll since 2000, and reached a high of 17th during the year to match the program best. In the 2013-14 season, Schaub led the Buckeyes to a 19-9 record, one win shy of the program record at the time (20), en route to a third-place finish in the B1G and the squads first NCAA tournament appearance since 2010. Schaub, a Lexington, Ohio, native who had a standout collegiate career at Tennessee, was on the coaching staff at Middle Tennessee State for five seasons, including one as head coach (2010-11), prior to joining the Ohio State staff. Schaub played four years for the Tennessee Volunteers (2003-06), where she was ranked as high as No. 2 nationally in doubles and the squad reached the No. 4 spot in the national polls during her career. She was an All-American and second team All-SEC selection as a freshman, finishing the year ranked sixth nationally. Although struggling with injuries as a sophomore and junior campaign, she posted 25 dual-match doubles wins. As a senior, Schaub played at Nos. 2 and 3 singles before moving into the No. 1 position in early April where she went 3-0 in the SEC tournament. She was ranked nationally in doubles as a senior with partner Vilmarie Castellvi and ended her career with 70 doubles wins to rank in the Top 10 in program history. Schaub was a member of the SEC Good Works Team and SEC Academic Honor Roll and was the recipient of the athletics departments No Guts, No Glory award as a senior. She graduated with a degree in psychology in 2006. Schaub was a two-sport athlete at Lexington High School, playing both tennis and basketball. She won the Ohio state singles title as a senior in 2001 when she led her squad to a third-place finish at the state tournament. She was a part of four conference and district championship squads during her career. Schaubs brother, Ty, played for the Ohio State mens tennis team and served as a captain as a senior when the Buckeyes were the NCAA runner-up. He is currently the assistant coach at San Diego. Her sister, Courtney, was on the tennis team at Cumberland University from 2008-12. She is the daughter of Ron Schaub and Mindy Cooper. Her father, who played tennis at Ohio University, is the teaching pro at Lakewood Racquet Club and boys and girls tennis coach at Lexington High School. 11/15/2016 11/6/2016 11/3/2016 11/3/2016 11/2/2016 The one stop for all official buckeye gear
