Assistant Coach
Sole is in his seventh year as the head wrestling coach of the OVU Fighting Scotts wrestling program. Sole is no stranger to the sport and has been instrumental in helping establish the OVU squad. He uses the experience and success he has had with previous schools to progress OVU wrestling into a very competitive NCAA Division 2 program. Sole is very blessed to have the opportunity to share his faith and coach other young athletes at this level. His intentions are to develop each wrestler to their collegiate potential as an athlete, academically and spiritually. In Sole's first five years at OVU, the program has seen progression each year in scheduling, tournament results and academic achievement. Individual results like Chase Longs being a NCAA national qualifier in 2013, and 2015 along with him winning the highly prestigious Elite89 award have highlighted the programs success and set precedence for things to come. Also, the program and OVU achieved its first NCAA All-Academic Team winners this year. All 6 student athletes were recognized as NCAA Academic All Americans in the 2014-2015 season. Prior to coming to OVU, Sole assisted in returning his alma mater, Liberty University, back to NCAA Division 1 status. While there they captured three NCAA East Regional Titles and qualified 14 wrestlers to the NCAA Final National championships. Sole resides in Parkersburg West Virginia with his wife, Vickie, two sons Dustin and Cody.
