In 2016, Ohio Wesleyan finished second in the NCAC West Division, received an NCAA Division III tournament bid, and finished with a record of 27-16. The 2015 Bishops shared the NCAC West title, placed third in the NCAC tournament, and finished with a record of 28-13. In 2012, the Battling Bishops finished third in the NCAC tournament on the way to a 23-18 overall record, Ohio Wesleyan's 27th consecutive winning season. The 2011 Bishops compiled a record of 11-5 in NCAC play, advanced to the championship game of the NCAC tournament, and had an overall record of 25-16.  Mott shared NCAC Coach of the Year honors. In 2009, the Bishops shared the NCAC West Division crown and finished with a 24-16 overall record. Mott had a spectacular season in his head coaching debut, guiding the Bishops to a 29-19 record, the team’s second straight NCAC championship, and a berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs. His colleagues recognized his accomplishments by voting him NCAC Coach of the Year. A 2004 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan, Mott served as pitching coach at Marietta College for 3 seasons before returning to his alma mater. He helped the Pioneers win the 2006 NCAA Division III championship and make a return appearance in the Division III World Series in 2007. “It’s a dream come true,” Mott said. “Ohio Wesleyan has been a special place for me since my freshman year in college. I had a chance to coach at Marietta and learn a lot, and the timing worked out well. I couldn’t ask for a better situation. Coach Ingles started a great tradition, and I’m honored to be able to carry it on.” During his Battling Bishop playing career, Mott earned first-team All-America honors after batting .408 and compiling a 12-1 record in 2003. He was a 4-time all-region selection and earned All-NCAC honors at pitcher, first base, third base and designated hitter. He continued his education while at Marietta, earning a master of arts in liberal learning in 2006. Mott is a native of Grove City, Ohio, and attended Grove City High School.  He and his wife, Megan, have 3 children, Mollie, Mason, and Maddie.   Mott's Career Coaching Record   Year School Record Pct 2008 Ohio Wesleyan 29-19-0 .604 2009 Ohio Wesleyan 24-16-0 .600 2010 Ohio Wesleyan 20-19-0 .513 2011 Ohio Wesleyan 25-16-0 .610 2012 Ohio Wesleyan 23-18-0 .561 2013 Ohio Wesleyan 18-19-0 .486 2014 Ohio Wesleyan 13-26-0 .333 2015 Ohio Wesleyan 28-13-0 .683 2016 Ohio Wesleyan 27-16-0 .628 2017 Ohio Wesleyan 14-26-0 .350 2018 Ohio Wesleyan 19-20-0 .487 2019 Ohio Wesleyan 15-22-1 .408 2020 Ohio Wesleyan 4- 4-0 .500 2021 Ohio Wesleyan 8-23-0 .258 2022 Ohio Wesleyan 10-28-0 .263 2023 Ohio Wesleyan 18-21-0 .462 2024 Ohio Wesleyan 20-19-0 .513 2025 Ohio Wesleyan 8-28-0 .222 Career 18 years 323-353-1 .478
