Coach Chao was the unanimous choice by everyone on our selection committee after he vividly articulated his vision and plans for a nationally prominent future for ODU women’s volleyball,” Selig said. Chao's fifth season at the helm proved to be a historic one for the program as the Monarchs put together their first 10-match win streak. ODU went 13-2 to open the 2024 campaign and finished 16-11 with a 5-9 mark against Sun Belt opponents. It marked a new program record for wins in a season.
