Austin Risenhoover
Head Coach
WITH THE GOLDEN EAGLES Coach Risenhoover has made an immediate impact in his Four seasons with ORU. Risenhoover has led the Golden Eagles to three Summit League Championship matches (2022,2024,2025). ORU has made the Summit League tournament every year under Risenhoover. In his first year at the helm, ORU won 10 games and advanced all the way to the Summit League Championship match for the first time since 2016 before falling in PKs. After instant success in year one, the Golden Eagles returned with high expectations for year two of the Risenhoover era. ORU made noise early in the season, defeating Tulsa, 2–1, for the first time in 16 years. Two weeks later, the Golden Eagles made another statement by beating Kansas State, 2–1, marking Risenhoover’s first Power Five win as a head coach and ORU’s first since 2012. The Golden Eagles won eight games on the year and advanced all the way to the Summit League semifinals. After failing to reach the Summit League Championship match in 2023, the Golden Eagles returned with one goal in mind for the 2024 season. ORU opened the year with a grueling non-conference schedule, starting the season 2–5–1. However, the Golden Eagles righted the ship and went 6–1–1 over their next eight matches. ORU entered the Summit League Tournament as a red-hot No. 5 seed and once again made noise. The Golden Eagles defeated No. 4 Omaha in the quarterfinals before knocking off No. 1 North Dakota State in penalty kicks in the semifinals. ORU advanced to its second championship match in three years but ultimately fell to the defending champions, South Dakota State. The 2025 season proved to be a record-breaking year for ORU women’s soccer under Risenhoover. The Golden Eagles opened non-conference play with a 7–4–1 record before entering Summit League play undefeated until the final regular-season match, finishing conference action at 6–1–1 and being crowned Summit League Regular Season Champions. ORU entered the Summit League Tournament as the No. 1 seed and knocked off UMKC in the semifinals to advance to its third championship match in under four years but once again fell short against South Dakota State. Risenhoover was named the 2025 Summit League Coach of the Year. In just three seasons under Risenhoover, ORU has produced one Offensiver Player of the Year, five First Team All-League selections, five Second Team selections, seven Honorable Mention honorees, five All-Newcomer selections, ten Players of the Week, four Academic All-League honorees, seven All-Tournament selections, and one Scholar of the Championship. BEFORE ORU Prior to ORU, Risenhoover served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Cal for the past five seasons. Risenhoover consistently put together some of the top recruiting classes in the nation in his role. Despite the struggles of recruiting in a global pandemic, Risenhoover assembled the No. 1 ranked class in the country in 2021 according to TopDrawerSoccer.com. Previously, he had notched a top-10 recruiting class in 2019, establishing himself as one of the nation's best recruiters. Overall, he has had recruiting classes ranked No. 1, 3 and 8 nationally. Under his tutelage, the Golden Bears produced 16 All-Pac-12 honorees, 10 All-Region honorees, three All-Americans and seven Pac-12 All-Freshman selections. During his time in Berkeley, the Bears made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2019, Cal won their first eight matches of the season and registered a pair of top-10 wins over No. 4 USC and No. 7 UCLA, sweeping their Los Angeles rivals for the first time since 1996. Before making the move to Cal, Risenhoover coached at both the University of California, Santa Barbara and Cal State Monterey Bay. He served as an assistant at Cal State Monterey Bay for two seasons before heading to Santa Barbara. Beginning as an assistant at UCSB, Risenhoover was elevated to associate head coach for the 2015 and 2016 seasons, leading the Gauchos to back-to-back seasons with double-digit wins. He started his coaching career at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, serving as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s teams. While with the Drovers, Risenhoover helped lead the women’s program to their first NAIA Top 25 ranking in school history. Risenhoover also has an extensive coaching background at both the club and high school levels, highlighted by a 6A state championship at Edmond North High School in 2010. Risenhoover played collegiately at Bacone College, where he was a two-time All-Red River Conference selection. A native of Owasso, Oklahoma, Risenhoover earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education and health sciences from Bacone College. Risenhoover and his wife, Jill, have a daughter, Gracyn, and two sons, Landon and Hudson.

Jordan Marchant
Assistant Coach
The Oral Roberts women's soccer program added former ORU midfielder/defender Jordan (Grigsby) Marchant as an Assistant Coach on May 11th, 2026. She enters her first year on Head Coach Austin Risenhoover's staff. "Grigs" as she is affectionately called, transferred to ORU from Appalachian State in 2021. She went on to play for the Golden Eagles from 2021 to 2024, starting in 45 of the 57 matches in her career. Her crowning achievement was helping lead the team to the conference semifinals in 2023. She was elected team captain and was respected for her leadership in times of adversity by teammates and coaches. Head Coach Austin Risenhoover said, "We're thrilled to welcome Jordan and her family back into our program. Jordan was a standout player and a team captain for us. Her energy and her ability to connect with others are what make her special. She is the epitome of our culture and what we strive for on our quest to be champions." "I am so excited to be back," said Marchant. "Coming to ORU changed my life as a player. I transferred here unsure if I still loved soccer, but the coaches here helped me rediscover my passion for the game, grow as a leader, and feel genuinely cared for as a person. That experience inspired me to become a coach. I'm excited for this new opportunity to pour into players the same way coaches poured into me. I get to help young women grow in confidence, faith, and love for the game while knowing they're valued far beyond soccer." "At this time in our program, Jordan is the perfect fit for what we need as we head into next year and beyond. We couldn't be more excited to see the impact she will have on our student-athletes and the program", said Coach Risenhoover. Marchant graduated from ORU in May 2024 with a degree in Psychology. She started her career in the field of Social Work and most recently worked as the Operations & Community Engagement Coordinator at West Side Alliance Soccer, a non-profit youth soccer organization in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She and her husband Dawson have a baby girl named Aminah.
