Nolan Albrecht

Head Coach

Head Coach Nolan Albrecht was named the 13th Head Coach of the Oral Roberts women’s volleyball program in January 2025 by Athletic Director Tim Johnson.   Before coming to ORU, Albrecht spent seven months at Liberty where he was named the Acting Head Coach of the Flames in May of 2024. Before being promoted to Acting Head Coach, Albrecht was an Assistant Coach for the Lady Flames, training pin attackers while scouting and game-planning for competitions. After the 2024 season, two of his players were honored with CUSA All-Conference Selections in Kate Gammer (CUSA 1st team) & Madison Blane (CUSA 2nd team).   Since 2017, Albrecht has been a coach and talent scout for the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program, tasked with evaluating and developing some of the best youth volleyball players in the USA.   From 2017 to 2021 Albrecht was the Head Coach for his Alma Mater, Belmont Abbey’s, men’s volleyball team. During his tenure, he coached three league awards winners - a Defensive Player of the Year in 2018, Freshman of the Year in 2019 and Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2020. A total of 13 players were selected to all-conference teams under his leadership.   In his professional career, Albrecht qualified for 4 AVP Beach Pro Tour Main Draws, finished in the top ten 3 times and reached #1 ranking in the AVP Grass Volleyball Tour. During his collegiate playing career for Belmont Abbey, Albrecht was a four-year captain and led the nation in kills, kills per set and points per set. Albrecht finished third in voting for the "Karch Kiraly Award" awarded to the nation's best Outside Hitter.

Annika Moulder

Assistant Coach

Annika (Albrecht) Moulder is one of the best collegiate players in NCAA history and was brought aboard the ORU coaching staff as an Assistant Coach by her brother and head coach, Nolan Alberecht. During her playing career at Nebraska, Annika Moulder was an All-American outside hitter and team captain, leading the Huskers to two national titles. As a senior captain, she averaged 3.02 kills and 2.74 digs per set while recording 34 service aces. In September 2017, she recorded 19 kills on .400 hitting in a win over #1 Penn State, earning the national player of the week award. At the end of the year, she had tallied 18 double-doubles, earning AVCA second-team All-American, an All-Big Ten selection and was named an AAU Sullivan Award finalist, given to the nation's most outstanding amateur athlete in any sport. She also became the third Husker since 2000 to play in every set (489) of her four-year career.   After her collegiate career, Annika played one year of professional volleyball for Volleyball Nantes in France. Following her season abroad in France, she returned to the United States to begin a career in ministry, working for FOCUS for a year in southern California before being transferred to Helena, Montana, to work on the campus of Carroll College.   Annika jumpstarted her coaching career in 2022, earning an Assistant Coach role for the University of Montana. The Grizzlies went 17-12 in 2022, putting up a 10-6 conference (Big Sky) record. She was at the forefront of history that season as the Grizzlies tallied their first 17-win season since 1999 and their first 10-win Big Sky campaign since 2013.

Brittney Whatley

Coach

Coach Whatley brings a dynamic blend of athletic excellence, leadership, and program-building experience to every role she takes on. A former Level 10 USA Gymnastics competitor, Brittney trained and competed at the highest levels of youth gymnastics for over 14 years. Her passion for athletic performance transitioned into collegiate cheer, where she proudly cheered for four years at Oral Roberts University, serving as team captain her senior year and competing at the NCA College Nationals for three seasons. After graduating from ORU with a degree in Math Education, Brittney returned to the school setting, where she combined her love for teaching and coaching. She launched and developed the varsity and intermediate cheerleading programs at Mingo Valley Christian School, leading the team to top finishes at the HCAA State Pom and Cheer Competition in their very first year of competition. Known for her strong leadership, organizational skills, and ability to inspire athletes, Brittney is committed to building programs that promote teamwork, discipline, and school spirit. Her journey from elite athlete to respected coach reflects her unwavering dedication to excellence both on and off the mat.
