Kirk Wren
Head Coach
Wren earned the Class of 1966 Award in 2004 and was named to Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 2002. He was on the NAIA National Cross Country Meet Chair - Jury of Appeals Committee from 1999-2000 and on the NAIA National Cross Country Meet Member - Jury of Appeals Committee from 1998-1999. Wren graduated from Fort Hays State University (89) with a degree in biology and earned his masters degree in higher administration in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in physical education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in 1994. Wren enjoys training, running, bicycling, and participating in road races with his wife Annette and his parents, Lynn and Marsha Wren. Kirk and Annette love the outdoors (fishing, hunting, and riding their horses) and enjoy spending time with their daughter, Whitney and sons, Nathaniel and Jonathan. Coach Brousseau is in his first season as a graduate assistant with the OU track and field programs. He will be coaching the OU throwers. Before coming to OU, Brousseau coached at Vasquez High School as an assistant football coach. He organized and instructed offensive and defensive linemen. Brousseau also supervised strength training for all players and he also taught tactical and technical skills to all linemen. Brousseau graduated from the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, N.D. in the spring of 2015. At UJ, he was a member of the football and track teams. Brousseau was a 2014 NAIA Indoor National Championship qualifier in the weight throw. He was named to the 2015 Whos Who Among Graduating Seniors. Brousseau also spent time as a volunteer; coaching a Special Olympics thrower who finished second at the summer Special Olympics in the shot put. He assisted in organizing Operation Christmas Child, organized Elementary Science Day, helped elementary children study at Gussner Elementary in Jamestown, attended Elementary Football Day, helped educate fourth to eighth graders in the importance in physical activity at St. Johns Academy, led an activity at the University of Jamestown Halloween Event, setup and cleaned the Jamestown YMCA, led a group of UJ athletes around Jamestown to college non-perishable goods for the needy, and cleaned downtown Jamestown proceeding and following the annual Block Party. Brousseau is a certified football coach through the National Registry of Coaches and is a certified coach through American Sport Education Program national coaches registry. Brousseau is getting his masters in business administration from Ottawa University. Coach Callahan is in her first season as a graduate assistant coach with the OU track and field program. Before coming to Ottawa University, Callahan was a four year letterman in track at Millikin University. She earned All-CCIW honors in the pole vault in 2011. Callahan holds the MU Indoor Pole Vault record and was the MU jumpers captain as a senior. Off of the track, Callahan was an Exercise Science and Sport Department Chair Search Committee member, on the Student Athlete Advising Council Secretary, was on the Alpha Lamdba Delta Honor Society, was part of the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, and was part of the Student Exercise Science Organization. Callahan graduated from Millikin University with a bachelor of science in health, fitness, and recreation. She minored in nutrition.
