Maile Deutsch
Head Coach
Coach Deutsch is in her second season as head coach of the OU softball program. She has been part of the OU softball program since 2022. Has an overall coaching record of 31-21 and is 19-7 in the KCAC Coached one NAIA All-American, one NFCA All-American, one KCAC Player of the Year, One KCAC Gold Glove selection, and six All-KCAC recipient. First coach in program history to win 30 or more games in their first season. She helped the 2022 and 2023 teams to a KCAC regular season championship and the 2022, 2023, and 2024 teams to an NAIA Opening Round appearance. Deutsch has coached 27 All-KCAC performers, five KCAC Gold Glove selections, one KCAC Pitcher of the Year, and one KCAC Newcomer of the Year. Before coming to Ottawa University, Deutsch spent four years as a member of the McPherson softball program. In 2021, she was named NFCA Player of the Year, First Team NFCA All-Region, First Team NFCA All-American, CoSIDA Academic All-American, CoSIDA Academic All-District, NAIA First Team All-American, KCAC Co-Player of the Year, First Team All-KCAC, Light and Life Student Leader of the Year. Deutsch was a McPherson College Presidential Scholar and earned the 2020 Life and Light Good Neighbor Award. She finished her Bulldog career with .392 (.519 in 2021) batting average, a .618 slugging percentage, and a .464 on base percentage. Deutsch had 194 hits 53 doubles, one triple, and 19 home runs. While at McPherson, Deutsch was the Assistant to the Director of Student Life, was a Lead Resident Assistant, a Resident Assistant, an Academic Community Essentials (ACE) mentor, and was a Student Mentor at Lincoln Elementary School in McPherson, Kan. She coordinated events such as The Color Run and the International Womxn’s Day Celebration. Deutsch was also involved with Pre-Health Professionals Club, Tri-Beta Biological Honors Society, Gamma Beta Phi National Honors and Service Society, Rotaract Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Deutsch also volunteered within the McPherson community, helping with stop the bleed kits, the Carter Blood Drive, the Love Chloe Kickball Tournament, the McPherson Animal Shelter, the Halloween Carnival, campus beautification, diploma wrapping, Family Day registration table, St. Joe’s Grandparents Day, McPherson College Power Day, the first aid station at homecoming, Sidewalk Chalk for Alzheimer’s Awareness, food drives for the local bank, Hitting League, Personal Energy Transportation, and Operation Christmas packing. Deutsch graduated from McPherson College in May of 2021. She graduated with a bachelor of science in biology with a minor in chemistry. Deutsch earned her MBA from Ottawa University in May of 2023.

Santiago Tartaglia
Head Coach
Coach Tartaglia is in his first season as the head coach of the Ottawa University men’s and women’s tennis programs. A decorated former Brave, Tartaglia earned NAIA All-America honors during the 2024–25 season and was a three-time All-KCAC selection. He was also named the 2024–25 KCAC Player of the Year. Tartaglia concluded his collegiate career with a 42–11 singles record and a 40–14 mark in doubles play. He ranks prominently throughout the Ottawa University record book, including fourth in career singles wins (42), fourth in career singles winning percentage (.792), and tied for fourth in single-season singles wins (18). His additional program records include second in single-season singles winning percentage (.857), third in career No. 1 singles wins (22), tied for fourth in career No. 2 singles wins (9), second in career No. 3 singles wins (11), tied for fourth in career doubles wins (40), fifth in career doubles winning percentage (.740), sixth in single-season doubles wins (18), third in career No. 2 doubles wins (16), and first in career No. 3 doubles wins (22). Tartaglia earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Ottawa University and is currently pursuing his master’s degree.

Kenlee Frank
Assistant Coach
Coach Frank is in her first season as an assistant coach with the OU softball program. Frank comes to Ottawa University from North Central Missouri College (NCMC) in Trenton, Mo. She was an assistant coach for the 2024 season. While at NCMC, Frank was the Resident Life Coordinator. Prior to her time at NCMC, Frank was an assistant coach at Moberly Area Community College in Moberly, Mo. for the 2023 season. She started her collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at KCAC member, Avila University in 2021 and 2022. While at Avila, Frank was the game day operations manager for the Eagles. Frank played one year of softball at Missouri Valley College before becoming an athletic department intern her senior year. As a sophomore and freshman, she spent two years as a member of the Iowa Lakes Community College softball team. At Iowa Lakes CC in 2018, Frank earned Second Team All-Conference and All-Academic honors. She was awarded the John P. Jack Kibble Outstanding Service Award at Iowa Lakes She graduated with a degree in sports management in May 2020 from Missouri Valley College and earned her MBA from Avila University in May 2022.

Katie Enneking
Assistant Coach
Coach Enneking is in her first season as a graduate assistant with the Ottawa University softball program. Enneking was a three year letterwinner on the softball diamond for the Braves. She was an All-KCAC performer in right field, earning KCAC Gold Glove honors in 2023. In Enneking’s three seasons as a Brave, she played in 159 games and made 157 starts. She hit .292 (141-483), scored 109 runs, hit 28 doubles, eight triples, and five home runs. Enneking drove in 86 runs, had a .414 slugging percentage, walked 66 times, had a .377 on base percentage, and stole 27 bases. She finished the year with 220 putouts, 22 assists, and a .976 fielding percentage. Before coming to Ottawa University, Enneking spent two seasons at Johnson County Community College. She was a two-time All-KJCCC DII selection, earning First Team honors as a sophomore. In her two seasons at JCCC Enneking played in 84 games, she scored 65 runs, had 84 hits, 13 doubles, seven triples, seven home runs, drove in 73 runs, walked 26 times, had 20 stolen bases, hit .336, had a .399 on base percentage, and a .528 slugging percentage. Enneking graduated from Ottawa University with a degree in exercise science. She is working on her masters of arts in leadership.
