Andy Rondeau

Head Coach

Rondeau enters his 11th season as Head Coach of the Setters after being named to lead the Pace Football program on January 10, 2014. He comes to Pace with an extensive background in Division I and II. During his time with the Setters, the program has seen new program highs in nearly every area - wins, offense, defense, all-conference players, retention, roster numbers, team GPA and fundraising.  Previously, Rondeau was the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at the College of the Holy Cross. Prior to Holy Cross, Rondeau was part of restarting the football program at Old Dominion University where he was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach from 2007-11. During his time with the Monarchs, Rondeau helped lead the team to an overall record of 27-8 in his final three seasons, with the school earning its first-ever bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs in 2011. Four players from his defense earned All-Colonial Athletic Association honors during the 2011 campaign, including CAA Defensive Player of the Year Ronnie Cameron. Old Dominion also ranked second in the CAA in both quarterback sacks and takeaways that season, while standing third in the conference in rushing defense. In 2010, Rondeaus defense ranked 11th in the nation in tackles for loss and 19th in quarterback sacks. In the first season of varsity play in 2009, Rondeaus defense ranked eighth in the country in takeaways. His first two seasons at Old Dominion (2007 and 2008) were spent building the program from the ground up, prior to the teams first season of varsity competition in 2009. Prior to Old Dominion, Rondeau had stops at the University of Maine, University of Buffalo, University of Tennessee-Martin, North Dakota State University, University of Pittsburgh and Northeastern University. Rondeau earned his bachelors degree in English from Syracuse in 1991. He and his wife, Tiffany, have two sons (Ryan and Jack) and two daughters (Alison and Kiley).

Stephen Gruber

Assistant Coach

Gruber begins his second season with Pace after joining Head Coach Rondeaus staff in March 2014. He will serve as the defensive line coach for the Setters. Gruber joins Pace with local experience, working in the Westchester County area. Gruber comes to Pace after serving as the JV coach for the Mount Pleasant School District in 2013. He was the defensive coordinator and special teams coach for the JV squad, while also assisting with film breakdown and game planning for the varsity teams. Prior to Mount Pleasant, Gruber was the assistant JV coach for the Katonah-Lewisboro School District, working with the linebackers and wide receivers in 2012. Gruber was a four-year player for the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons as a defensive lineman. In 22 career games, he recorded 47 tackles, eight for losses, along with four sacks and one interception. As a senior, he was named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team. He was a SUNYAC All-Academic and Commissioners Honor Roll selection in 2009 as well as be selected as the Coach Recognition Award winner as a senior. Gruber earned his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland in May 2012.

Conor Gilmartin-Donohue

Assistant Coach

Gilmartin-Donohue enters his second year with Pace after joining Head Coach Rondeaus staff in February 2014 and will serve as the tight ends coach for the 2014 season. Gilmartin-Donohue comes to Pace with Division I playing experience as well as a background playing football in Westchester County. Gilmartin-Donohue played for White Plains High School and was a three-sport standout. He played football, basketball and lacrosse, serving as a team captain for all three teams. He went onto play at the Division I level with stops at Northeastern for three seasons and North Texas for his senior year At Northeastern, he played in 31 games, hauling in 33 receptions for 330 yards and four touchdowns. As a senior, Gilmartin-Donohue played in nine games for North Texas, posting one reception. Gilmartin-Donohue returned to his alma mater in 2011 as an assistant coach for the White Plains football team. He was the offensive coordinator for three seasons while also coaching the quarterbacks and tight end position groups. Gilmartin-Donohue also worked as an assistant coach for the lacrosse team in 2012. Gilmartin-Donohue earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Northeastern in 2011.
