Vinny Gallo

Head Coach

Gallo was named head baseball coach at Penn State Brandywine in June 2016. Gallo spent the 2013-16 campaigns as the baseball team's top assistant, working closely with the infielders and hitters, while also serving as the head of recruiting on the Brandywine baseball staff. Brandywine has won at least 20 games during each of the last three seasons and has compiled 80 victories overall during Gallo's four-year tenure. Nine student-athletes earned all-American awards from the USCAA and 17 claimed all-PSUAC accolades, while eight student-athletes garnered USCAA National Academic Team honors during that time. Prior to his appointment as assistant coach, Gallo was a four-year member of the Lions' baseball team. A 2012 graduate of Penn State, Gallo earned his bachelor's degree in corporate communications. A native of Delaware County, Gallo graduated from Springfield High School in 2007. He currently coaches a local legion team during the summer and has been an instructor at numerous camps and clinics in the area, including Penn State University Park Head Baseball Coach Rob Cooper's Prospect Camp this June. Gallo has also served as the public address announcer at Penn State Brandywine basketball games since his time as a student.

Billy Haines

Assistant Coach

Haines has comprised a 58-52 overall record along with a 43-14 PSUAC mark during his first three seasons.  He has also produced five USCAA All-Americans, six USCAA Academic All-Americans, nine First Team All-PSUAC performers, three second team all-conference standouts, and one honorable mention all-conference player.  Haines was also named 2013 PSUAC Coach of the Year. Brandywine finished the 2015 season with a 20-15 record and placed third at the PSUAC Tournament. A league-high four players were selected first team all-conference, while three student-athletes earned USCAA All-Academic Team recognition. During the 2014 season, Haines guided the Lions to a 22-15 overall and 15-3 PSUAC record and junior first baseman Gabe Encarnacion was selected as the PSUAC Player of the Year. The Lions placed second in the PSUAC and finished as the runner-up during the leagues postseason tournament. In 2013, Brandywine won 15 games, finishing the regular season in third place in the conference.  The Lions went on to the conference tournament and finished third. Haines is a graduate of Penn State Brandywine and was a member of the Lions baseball team during his time on campus. Haines then served as an assistant coach with Brandywine from 2004-2007, helping guide the Lions to three division championships.  Haines then made a move to the high school ranks from 2008-2012 with Glen Mills and Interboro High Schools, before returning to Brandywine in 2013 to become head coach of his alma mater. Haines graduated from Penn State Brandywine with a bachelors degree in human development and family studies.  Haines also received his masters degree from Wilmington University in school counseling. He currently resides in Newtown Square with his wife, Shannon, and his son, Liam.
