Penn State Hazleton Men's Soccer

Shadle was an essential player in the development and addition of the Lady Lions Soccer program at Penn State Hazleton and served as the interim head coach of the women's team when it was announced in November of 2015. Later in February of 2016, Shadle was named head coach of the newly formed program after two successful seasons as head coach of the men's program at Penn State Hazleton. "We're extremely excited to kick off our inaugural season after nine months of preparation and recruiting", Coach Shadle, stated. "We have a talented group of returning players from last years men's team and an eager class of first-year students ready to hit field. We're in a great place for our first season and expect to only get better as the program matures." Coach Shadle has been an integral part of Nittany Lion Soccer for the better part of a decade, first as a player, then later as part of the coaching staff. Shadle played three seasons as a center-back for the Lions from 2006-09, earning PSUAC All-Conference and academic honors while helping the team to three playoff appearances over that span.  After graduating from Penn State with a degree in recreation, parks and tourism management, Shadle returned to Hazleton as an assistant under coaches Ian Vernon and Shawn Holcombe for the 2011-12 seasons. When the head coaching position became available in the fall of 2014, Shadle was a natural choice for the role. He guided the team back to the postseason as interim head coach, improving upon the teams 3-13 record from a season prior. In 2015, Shadle guided the Lions to an 11-5 overall record, going 7-2 in the PSUAC before falling in the semi-finals to the eventual champions, Penn State Beaver. Outside his coaching role at Penn State Hazleton, Shadle is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and holds two special topics diplomas in goalkeeping and game management through the organization. Shadle is part owner of the Edge of Pa. Sports Training Facility in Bloomsburg, Pa. where he offers skill specific soccer training.
