Phil Pisano
Head Coach
Pisano begins his 13th year as the head coach of the women's volleyball team and sixth season with the men's volleyball squad. Since Pisanos arrival, the women have a 245-134 overall record with a stellar 92-17 mark in the AMCC. During that time, 12 career or single-season records have been set as the blue and white have earned 49 selections to the all-conference team and 58 academic all-conference honors. Pisano has also been named AMCC Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2013. In the inaugural season for the men, the Lions were just four wins away from reaching .500 for the season. Eight of their losses were to teams ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 15 poll all year. Behrend advanced to the AMCC playoffs and reached the UVC semifinals. Pisano also received the inaugural AMCC Coach of the Year honors. In 2010, Behrend earned its fourth ECAC bid in five years and ended with a 19-12 overall record and 7-2 mark in the AMCC. In 2009, the Lions finished runners-up in the AMCC Tournament and posted their fourth 20 win season in the past six years, finishing with a 22-11 mark. His 2008 squad went 25-9 and captured the programs first ever ECAC championship, defeating Cabrini in the finals in Baltimore, Maryland to take the ECAC South Championship. The team also won the AMCC regular season title and finished the season with wins in ten of its final 11 matches. In 2007, the blue and white finished with an 18-12 overall record and advanced to the AMCC semifinals. The team captured a share of the AMCC regular season title with an 8-1 conference record. His 2006 squad set a school record for wins, and captured a second straight AMCC regular season title with an overall mark of 29-4. The blue and white earned an ECAC bid and reached the tournament championship match, along the way earning the first postseason wins ever for the program. In 2005, the blue and white captured the AMCC Championship and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first-time ever. Behrend finished with a record of 26-8, including an impressive 9-0 mark in AMCC competition. In 2003, Pisano served as an assistant coach with the Behrend Lions. In addition, he coached at Slippery Rock as an assistant to the women's volleyball coach from 1998-2003. He was also the coach and president of the SRU men's volleyball club team for three years while earning his undergraduate degree in marketing from the Rock. Pisano currently serves on the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Volleyball Regional Advisory Committee and the AVCA Division III Head Coaches Committee. He continues to participate in a variety of volleyball camps and clinics throughout the year. Pisano completed his MBA from Behrend in 2005. In addition to his coaching duties, he serves as a lecturer in the health and physical education department.

Jared Marks
Head Coach
Bio Jared Marks is in his first season as head women’s volleyball coach at Penn State Behrend. Marks comes to Behrend after spending one season as the head volleyball coach at Christian Brothers University. Prior to CBU, he was the head volleyball coach for six seasons at Saint Agnes Academy in Memphis. During his time at Saint Agnes, Marks led the team to a Region Championship in three of the last four seasons, and a state tournament qualifier during all six campaigns. His 2023 squad was the TSSAA DII-AA Girls' State Volleyball Championship runners-up. Since 2014, Marks was the Master Coach, Recruiting Coordinator for Memphis Metro JVC. While at Memphis Metro, Marks was the head coach for club's top team in the 13-18 year old age groups. In 2022, Marks helped guide the club to a second-place finish at the Mid-East Qualifier (USA Division) and a fifth-place finish at the USAV 18 Nationals. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native studied for one semester at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Marks then received a Bachelor of Science in finance, with a minor in international business from Penn State University. He also spent four years as a teacher in the Shelby County and Green Dot Public School systems (Hamilton, Fairley).
