Pfeiffer University Men's Track

Howard as the head coach of the cross country and track and field teams.  As the Falcons interim head coach, Howard has coached five Conference Carolinas Athletes of the Week, three all-conference selections and one conference champion and record holder.  During the 2015-16 indoor track and field season, Howards squads broke 17 Falcon records. Andrew has done an outstanding job as our interim coach, commented Reasso. After an extensive search, we decided we have the best candidate right here. We are delighted to have Andrew officially join the athletic department and I know he is going to do a great job for us. Prior to being hired at Pfeiffer, Howard spent time as head coach for Mount Airy High School with the mens and womens cross country squads and an assistant track and field coach. At Mount Airy, Howard coached the 2009 and 2010 Boys and Girls individual cross country state champions, four individual regional champions and six conference runners of the year. In 2011, he was named Northwest 1A/2A Conference Coach of the Year. As an undergraduate at Gardner-Webb University, Howard was a standout member of the Bulldogs track and field and cross country teams.  The former Bulldog ran multiple events that spanned from the 1500 meters to the 5000 meters and also included the 3000 meter steeple chase. In 2004, Howard was named a member of the Third team A-Sun Outdoor Conference Championships in the 4x400 Relay. I will work hard to continue the strong traditions that has been started, and look to lead the team towards a bright future." Howard lives in Mount Airy, N.C. with his wife Amy and daughter Madison.
