Sean Douglas

Head Coach

Sean Douglas joined Purdue University Northwest as Head Women's Volleyball Coach in January 2022 and enters his fifth season in the fall of 2026. In the fall of 2023, Douglas led PNW to the most wins in a single season since joining NCAA Division II with 13. He helped guide to the volleyball team to clinching spot in the GLIAC Volleyball Tournament for the first time in program history. During 2023, he coached Second Team All-GLIAC selections Anika Huelskamp and Arra Cottrell along with Honorable Mention Livia Thomsen. The second team selections were the highest honors for a volleyball player in the postseason awards.   Douglas, who is a native of Lake Forest, Ill., came to Purdue Northwest from Life Pacific University (Calif.). He was the first head volleyball coach at LPU, where he led the Warriors to the 2017 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championship Tournament in only the third year of the volleyball program's existence.   In the fall of 2021, Douglas guided Life Pacific during a record-setting campaign with the best winning percentage (.703) and most conference wins (12) in school history. The Warriors finished 19-8 overall and finished third in the highly competitive Golden State Athletic Conference with two wins over nationally-ranked opponents. Douglas mentored a pair of 2021 Honorable Mention NAIA All-Americans in libero Sydney Culpepper and outside hitter Hannah Caddow.   Douglas, who was named 2017 NCCAA West Region Coach of the Year, spent seven seasons building the LPU volleyball program. During the 2017 postseason run, the Warriors rattled off 18 straight wins and finished with a school-record 23 victories.   Prior to LPU, Douglas spent seven years as varsity head coach at St. Lucy's Priory High School where he was successful with six straight league titles and a pair of state regional runner-up finishes. He earned several accolades including California Interscholastic Federation Coach (CIF) Southern Section Coach of the Year in 2010, Daily Bulletin coach of the year in 2010 and 2011, San Gabriel coach of the year 2010, CIF Southern Section coach of the year finalist in 2011 and Daily Bulletin's top 10 most influential sports personalities in 2010 and 2011.   As a club coach, Douglas has guided teams that qualified for the Junior National Championships in 2014, 2016 and 2017. He has coached and helped send over 100 student-athletes to play in college.   During his playing career, Douglas was a starter and captain for the 1999 National Championship team at the University of La Verne and was named to the All-Millennial team.

Micah Lowe

Head Coach

Purdue University Northwest Athletic Director Rick Costello has announced the hiring of Micah Lowe as the first-ever Women's Flag Football Head Coach. On behalf of Purdue University Northwest Pride, I am thrilled to announce that Micah Lowe will serve as our inaugural Flag Football Coach," said Rick Costello, Director of Athletics. "Micah distinguished himself during the selection process with his enthusiasm, energy, and passion for the sport of Flag Football. I am looking forward to him leading this new program, recruiting exceptional student-athletes to PNW, and contributing to the continued growth of this rapidly expanding sport." Lowe comes to Purdue Northwest with a strong football and athletic development background with a proven ability to enhance player performance. He is the current owner and Executive Director of the Hands Team Academy based in Chicago, Illinois where he has been since 2018. The Hands Team Academy was founded as a premier skills development program designed to elevate athletes to the next level, gaining global recognition and media features on ESPN and other major sports outlets. He also built the program to help design and implement specialized training regimens to improve hand-eye coordination, endurance, and position-specific skills. Lowe brings a wealth of flag football experience to Hammond, Indiana having founded the first elite travel women's flag football team in the state of Illinois. His team recently finished fifth at the world's largest flag football tournament in Tampa, Florida. Lowe has also dedicated himself to developing flag football talent, training numerous athletes and helping several reach the collegiate level. In 2022, Lowe was ranked as the tenth best wide receiver trainer in the United States by USA Top 100. "I am honored to have the opportunity to become the first-ever head coach for the women's flag football program at Purdue Northwest," said Lowe. "I want to thank everyone involved in the hiring process for providing me this incredible opportunity. PNW is gaining a coach who is fully committed to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field, and I am excited to build something truly special here at Purdue Northwest." As a football player, Lowe played his collegiate ball at North Park University for two seasons as a wide receiver and was a volunteer coach for the Special Olympics. The Columbus, Ohio native earned his Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management in 2020.

Mallory Douglas

Assistant Coach

Mallory joined Purdue University Northwest as Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach in February 2022. In her first season as Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach at PNW, she helped lead the Pride to the most program wins since transitioning to Division 2. This past 2023 season, the Pride finished 6th in conference making it the highest finish since transitioning to Division 2 and marking the first time for the program to qualify into the GLIAC conference tournament. The Pride continued to break program records with most wins in a season, most conference wins in a season, First GLIAC Player of the Week and most GLIAC player conference awards. Douglas, who is a native of Rancho Cucamonga, Ca., comes to Purdue Northwest from Life Pacific University (Calif.). As Associate Head Coach, she helped to start the LPU volleyball program in 2015. By 2017, the Warriors made it to the 2017 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championship Tournament in only the third year of the volleyball program's existence with one player receiving All-American Honorable Mention Honors. In 2018, the Warriors became members of the GSAC conference in the NAIA where she would lead 10 player of the week recognitions, 6 GSAC 1st Team All-Conference awards, 5 NAIA All-Region Players and 5 NAIA All-Americans. Douglas also received the GSAC Assistant Coach of the year award during the 2020-2021 season. During the 2021 season, the Warriors finished 3rd in GSAC with a 19-8, 12-6 record and defeated 2 top 20 ranked teams. Before her time at Life Pacific University, Mallory was the Assistant Coach for St Lucy’s Priory High School where the team was recognized as Team of the Decade by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune for its 2 CIF Championships and 2 State Semi-finalists for the 2010 and 2011 season. Mallory played for the California State Polytechnic University Pomona Broncos where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Human Performance.  Mallory is married to Head Volleyball Coach Sean Douglas and is the proud mother of 2 children and their cat Charlie.

Madesyn Samples

Assistant Coach

Purdue University Northwest Director of Athletics Rick Costello has announced the hiring of Madesyn Samples as the inaugural head coach for the STUNT program.   "I am delighted to welcome Madesyn Samples as the first head coach for Purdue Northwest STUNT," said Director of Athletics, Rick Costello. "This marks a historic day for the Pride, and I am proud to have Madesyn lead this exciting new program." Purdue Northwest is the first institution in the state of Indiana to add a varsity STUNT team.  Officially recognized as an emerging sport by the NCAA, STUNT is the 21st intercollegiate sport on the PNW roster.  Purdue Northwest will begin competition in STUNT during the 2024-2025 athletics season.   Madesyn joins Purdue Northwest after serving as the head cheer coach at Linfield University in McMinnville, Oregon. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in choreographing routines, leading recruitment efforts, and spearheading community engagement initiatives.    Before her role as the head cheer coach for Linfield, she was the Oregon State University All-Girl Cheer Coach for a year.   A graduate of Oregon State University in June 2022, Madesyn was a member of the university cheer team during her time as a student. She also served as the team captain and was awarded an OSU Cheer Scholarship for her outstanding efforts.   "I am thrilled to be joining the PNW family. Building a STUNT program is surreal and is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Samples. "I began cheering when I was four years old and it is truly amazing to see the growing recognition and rise of STUNT. It allows us to show all the skill, hard work, and athleticism that encompasses cheer.  I am excited to get the Pride STUNT family started!"   Madesyn earned her Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Degree with a focus in Advanced Molecular Biology while also earning a minor in Chemistry from Oregon State University.
