Quincy University Women's Softball

Kirkland Burton enters his third season on the Quincy University sprint football coaching staff in 2026 and his second season as head coach. In addition to his head coaching duties, Burton continues to serve as offensive coordinator, while overseeing the wide receivers and the program’s strength and conditioning efforts. Burton joined the staff in 2023 as the team’s secondary coach, special teams coordinator, and community involvement coordinator, where he played a key role in player development and spearheaded the program’s outreach initiatives. He transitioned to offensive coordinator, wide receivers coach, and strength and conditioning coach in 2024, helping shape the offensive identity of the Hawks. In 2025, Burton took over as head coach while maintaining his responsibilities on the offensive side of the ball, leading the program through his first season at the helm. A former Hawk himself, Burton was a five-year member of the Quincy sprint football program from 2013–17. He began his career as a strong safety before transitioning back to running back, his natural position, for his final two seasons. Outside of his role with Quincy sprint football, Burton serves as a strength and conditioning coordinator for the Quincy Senior High School football program, where he has been a member of the Blue Devils coaching staff for six seasons. He also contributes as a strength coach within Quincy University’s athletic department.   Year Record Notes 2025 1-6
