Meaghan Rudd

Head Coach

Coach Meaghan Rudd enters her sixth season with the Redeemer Royals Women’s Soccer program and her fourth as Head Coach. During her tenure, she has guided the program through a remarkable transformation, leading the Royals to consistent success in the highly competitive OCAA West Division. Known for her passion, leadership, and Christ-centred approach to coaching, Rudd has established a culture built on resilience, discipline, and servant leadership. A proud Redeemer alumna, Rudd played four seasons for the Royals, serving as team captain beginning in her second year and earning OCAA All-Star honours twice. Her own journey as a student-athlete continues to shape her coaching philosophy, which emphasizes not only technical and tactical growth but also personal development and character formation. Since stepping into the head coaching role, Rudd has compiled a 17-5-8 regular season record, highlighted by a standout 2024–25 season in which the Royals posted a 7-1-2 mark, captured the OCAA West Division Championship, and advanced to the OCAA Bronze Medal Final. That same year, the Royals earned recognition as the OCAA West’s Best Defensive Team, a testament to the program’s growth and discipline under her leadership. Her achievements have not gone unnoticed. In 2024, Rudd was named OCAA Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year, OCAA West Coach of the Year, and earned the prestigious honour of CCAA Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year. She has also been instrumental in the development of her players, with athletes earning national and provincial recognition while competing under her and her staff's guidance. Rudd continues to lead the Royals with a vision that goes beyond wins and losses. Her commitment to excellence, character, and spiritual growth ensures that Redeemer’s women’s soccer program is not only competitive on the field but also impactful in shaping leaders for impact.   Meaghan Rudd's All-Time Redeemer Royals Coaching Record Season Regular Season Record Postseason Record Postseason 2022-2023 5-3-2 0-1 OCAA Qualifying Round 2023-2024 5-1-4 0-1 OCAA Qualifying Round 2024-2025 7-1-2 2-3 OCAA Bronze Medal Finalist, OCAA West Division Champions, OCAA Coach of the Year, CCAA Coach of the Year Total 17-5-8 2-5     All-Time Redeemer Royals Women's Soccer Head Coaches Allan Brown (1989-97) *Redeemer Royals Hall of Fame Inductee '13 Frances Manias (1997-99) Tom Sauder (1999-05) Krista Girolametto (2005-08) Pete Reid/ Mike Dykhouse (2008-11) Caell Huyer (2011-2017) April Douwes (2017-2020) April Douwes/ Meaghan Rudd (2021-22) Meaghan Rudd (2022-Present)

Daniel Weiandt

Assistant Coach

Daniel Weiandt joined the Redeemer men's soccer coaching staff in the summer of 2022. And is now entering the fourth year of being on the coaching staff. Daniel’s main role is to watch over game footage to analyse both the Redeemer team and the opposition in order to present the players with the clearest picture. Prior to being a coach with Redeemer, Daniel was also a varsity athlete for the Royals. He was on the men's soccer team in his first year at Redeemer. His understanding of the game allowed him to be a very versatile player, playing across the field in a number of positions. His career as a student athlete was cut short at the end of the season when he tore the ligaments in his knee, leading him to pursue coaching instead. Outside of the OCAA, Daniel also coaches the local Hamilton Sparta U17 boys rep team. He has been with this team since 2019, with a focus on player development and forming a true understanding of the game in his players. In the spring of 2025, the team claimed the gold medal at the Welland Wizards Rose Tournament U18 division. Daniel currently holds a national C-license and is in the process of obtaining the CONCACAF B license.
