Additionally, Larsen was the conference's Defensive Player of the Year. During the 2009-10 campaign, Greene navigated Rensselaer to its first-ever Liberty League Tournament crown as the squad went 17-11 and 10-4 in conference play. Led by Liberty League Player of the Year and the program's all-time leading scorer, Whitney Coleman, the Engineers earn ed a berth in the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in school history. He guided the Engineers to an 18-7 record in 2008-09 including a 10-4 mark in the league. RPI advanced to its third appearance in the conference tournament in the past four years, led by unanimous All-Liberty League First Team selection Coleman and Wetmore, the conference's Rookie of the Year. RPI went 12-13 overall and 7-7 in the conference in 2007-08 behind All-Liberty League First Team selection Elizabeth Barker. The team advanced to the Liberty League Tournament for the fifth time during Greenes tenure but fell in the semifinals. The 2006-07 season saw Greene become the all-time winningest coach in the program's history as he guided the cherry & white to a 16-11 record and to the semifinals of the ECAC Upstate Tournament.  Rensselaer finished fourth in the conference standings with a 14-10 record to earn a spot in the Liberty League Tournament in 2005-06. RPI was led in scoring by Coleman, the Liberty League Rookie of the Year and an All-League Second Team selection. In 2004-05, RPI earned a berth in the ECAC Tournament and featured the two-time Liberty League Player of the Year, Kaitlyn Saunders, who was a two-time WBCA/Kodak National All-American Honorable Mention. She finished her career as the schools all-time leading scorer with 1,506 points. Greene led the team to its second highest win total in the programs history in 2003-04 - 22 en route to an appearance in the finals of the league tournament. The tandem of Kristin Kacsynski, a National All-American Honorable Mention and Saunders, a D3Hoops.com All-East Region First Team selection, tallied a combined 859 points in leading RPI to its second consecutive runner-up finish in the ECAC Tournament. The 2002-03 campaign saw Greene lead RPI to its second straight 18-win season (18-10) and earn post-season invitations to the league and ECAC Tournaments, concluding with the first appearance in the ECAC Tournament finals in program history. Two players earned All-UCAA and three were recognized for their outstanding work on the hardwood and in the classroom with All-Academic honors.    Prior to his arrival at Rensselaer, Greene spent two years at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, where he was the head coach of the Division II Purple Knights. For the three seasons prior to that he was the head coach at Western New England College. While at both institutions, Greenes teams not only won, but established new standards of academics and sportsmanship. Before coaching at Western New England, Greene served as the boys varsity basketball coach at Chatham High School in Massachusetts. He has also coached girls at the scholastic level and men in the junior college ranks. Greene represented the United States as a basketball coach at the 2001 World Scholar-Athlete Games and was one of only two Division III coaches selected to serve as a YES Clinic Coaching Clinician at the NCAA Division I Womens Basketball Final Four in 2006.
