Head Coach
Bio January 14, 2026: Curry named Head Women's Basketball Coach July 2024 Press Release: https://www.rbcathletics.com/general/2024-25/releases/20240713jgujpl After distinguishing himself on the hardwood as a high school standout in Colorado Springs, Ty Curry pursued collegiate basketball on scholarship at Nebraska Christian College (Class of 2018). He transitioned to earn a BA in Human Development and Family Studies, with a minor in Psychology, from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2022, and followed that with an MS in Sports Leadership from Endicott College in 2024. Curry began cultivating his coaching acumen at the Air Force Academy Basketball Camps during the summers of 2018 and 2019, where he worked directly with high-level youth athletes. He officially entered the coaching ranks at Woodland Park High School, covering multiple responsibilities—Assistant Varsity Coach, Head JV Coach, and Freshman Boys Coach—while simultaneously serving as a paraeducator at the adjacent middle school. These roles underscored his holistic commitment to athlete development both on and off the court. In 2021, Curry joined The Colorado Springs School (CSS), where over nearly two seasons he served as Associate Head Varsity Coach, JV Coach, and Head Middle School Boys Coach. Under his leadership, the varsity team improved to a 10–9 record and a 3rd-place finish in the 2A Black Forest League during the 2022–23 season. Curry next contributed as Assistant Varsity Coach at Doherty High School, helping guide one of the region’s top programs. In 2023–24, the team posted a 19–6 record and swept the Metro League with a flawless 10–0 mark. He supported the team's run to the Sweet 16 in the CHSAA State Tournament, managing recruiting logistics, film distribution, and opponent scouting in his role. Today, as a key member of the women's basketball staff at Richard Bland College, Curry not only drives player development, on-court strategy, and scouting, but also oversees recruiting logistics, equipment, travel coordination, and team operations. In his inaugural season, he helped the program earn a berth in the Region X postseason, mentored an All-Region X NJCAA Honorable Mention recipient, and guided four student‑athletes onto the Athletic Director’s Academic Excellence List (min. 3.0 GPA). As a faculty member, Curry teaches the “Guided Pathways to Success” course, achieving a 100% pass rate with all student-athletes maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA. Looking ahead to the 2025–26 season, Curry brings unwavering energy and vision to RBC. He is committed to fostering a winning culture, pursuing a Region X championship, and positioning the program to compete at the NJCAA National Tournament level.
