Andrew McMinn
Head Coach
McMinn enters his fifth season as head coach at Robert Morris University. McMinn has been at RMU for 11 seasons now, beginning his tenure as an associate head coach during the programs second season in 2006. Head coach McMinn guided four Colonials to Northeast Conference postseason accolades in 2015. Eric Rankel joined Kiel Matisz (2009-12) as the only player in program history to be named to the All-NEC First Team three times. Luke Laszkiewicz and James Rahe earned Second Team honors, while Carter Yepsen made the All-NEC Rookie Team. RMU returns its six leading scorers in 2016. In 2014, McMinn had six players earn All-Northeast Conference recognition and saw his team finish the season third in caused turnovers per game with a mark of 10.14. The Colonials accomplished a handful of firsts in McMinns second season at the helm, finishing an overall record of 8-7 and a mark of 3-2 in conference play. RMU defeated Quinnipiac in the NEC Tournament semifinals, 15-14, for the programs first postseason win. The victory also pushed the Colonials through to their first NEC Tournament championship game. In addition to the team accomplishments, McMinn also saw two players break new ground in the All-NEC balloting. Sean Meagher was named NEC Defensive Player of the Year for the Colonials, while Eric Rankel became the first RMU rookie to earn a first or second team all-league award as he picked up First Team accolades. In all, eight student-athletes received All-NEC honors, the second highest number in school history. In his first season as a collegiate head coach, McMinn continued the rapid rise of the RMU's men's lacrosse program. He led Robert Morris to a program-record 11 wins in just 15 games, including posting a perfect 5-0 record in league play. As a result, the Colonials claimed the NEC regular-season crown, the first conference title of any kind for the men's lacrosse program. RMU has also been in the national conversation under McMinn. Robert Morris used a six-game winning streak to earn a national ranking for the second time in program history in 2012 as it entered the / Media Poll in April. The Colonials also posted multiple wins over nationally ranked teams in 2012, the first such occurrence in school history, including a 9-7 victory at Ohio State in March. RMU averaged 14.33 goals per game in 2012 to top all of Division I. As a result, the Colonials became the first Division I team to lead the nation in scoring offense in three consecutive seasons since the NCAA started keeping track of such records. He also helped 10 of his players earn postseason awards from the NEC, establishing a new conference record. Included in that group was midfielder Kiel Matisz, who earned a litany of honors during and after the 2012 campaign. Matisz was selected as a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American in addition to claiming the NEC Player of the Year accolade. He was also named as a Lowes Senior CLASS Award finalist, the first from any sport in RMU history, and the NEC Mens Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Matiszs individual achievements for his exploits off the field were far from the only ones RMU earned in 2012 as McMinn led Robert Morris to two noteworthy accomplishments. Robert Morris earned the leagues Team GPA award for mens lacrosse as the Colonials posted a team grade-point average of 3.14 during the 2011-12 academic year, the highest amongst all conference schools. It marked the second straight year in which the Colonial mens lacrosse program won the leagues Team GPA honor. RMU had a league-high 17 student-athletes named the NEC Academic Honor Roll and five Colonials were selected to the NEC Commissioners Honor, a figure that equaled the total selections by the rest of the conference combined. Prior to being named head coach, McMinn had previously as the associate head coach for the Colonials. He had served on the Robert Morris staff for six seasons, helping RMU develop from its earliest stages as a program to one that had secured three consecutive winning seasons and a national ranking along with its first postseason berth in the two years prior to his appointment as head coach. While McMinn had helped Robert Morris develop into a winner on the field, he has also played a role in improving the performance of the Colonials in the classroom. He oversaw the academic progress of student-athletes and developed systems aimed at improvement. McMinn's commitment in this area clearly paid off as Robert Morris earned the highest GPA among all Northeast Conference men's lacrosse programs this past season with its 3.12 mark. The Colonials also placed a men's lacrosse conference-high 22 student-athletes on the NEC Academic Honor Roll, a total that was more than double any of its conference foes, and earned the same number of men's lacrosse selections to the prestigious NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll as the rest of the league combined. McMinn progressively earned additional responsibilities within the Colonial program the years leading up to his appointment, including aiding in the hiring and management of other staff members and overseeing certain budgetary matters. He also represented Robert Morris as a speaker at the USILA national convention in December 2009, where he led a presentation on transition offense. Before joining the Colonials' coaching staff, McMinn was a standout goaltender for the Providence Friars of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). In three seasons as the starting goaltender, he helped lead his team to two regular-season championships, a MAAC Tournament Championship and a berth in the 2004 NCAA Tournament. He was a three-time All-MAAC selection, a 2004 MAAC All-Tournament Team honoree, and he held the top two single-season goals against average marks in MAAC history at the time of his graduation. During his career, he ranked among the top goaltenders in Division I in both save percentage and goals against average. He ranked fourth nationally in GAA in 2003, allowing just 6.91 tallies per game, and was seventh nationally in save percentage in 2005 with a .599 mark. McMinn earned his Bachelor's degree in management with a minor in finance from Providence in 2005. He just completed his Master's degree in instructional leadership with a concentration in sport management from Robert Morris in 2014.

Assistant Coach
Marasti is entering his second season as an assistant coach with the Robert Morris men's lacrosse team. In September of 2014, Colonials head coach Andrew McMinn hired Marasti, giving the former RMU player his first collegiate coaching job. Marasti spent 2012 to 2014 as the president of the Pittsburgh Low and Away Lacrosse Club, and doubled as the varsity head coach at Pine Richland (Pa.) High School in 2014. Under his direction, the Rams finished the season with a record of 10-5 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) playoffs. Prior to that, Marasti was an assistant coach with Seneca Valley (Pa.) High School for the 2013 season, and spent the previous year with Peters Township (Pa.) High School as its Director of Youth Coaches and eighth grade head coach. Marasti played four seasons with Robert Morris from 2008 to 2011, tallying 24 points in 60 games. He was a very versatile player for the Colonials, as he started his career as an attackman before moving to defensive midfield his junior season. In his senior campaign, RMU finished 9-6 and made the first Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament of its history. A native of Pittsburgh, Marasti graduated from Robert Morris in 2011 with his Bachelor's degree in education.
