Caitlin Cotter
Head Coach
Cotter was named head cross country and track & field coach at Robert Morris in September of 2015 and is in her second season leading the Colonials in 2016-17. Were extremely thrilled and excited to have Coach Cotter take over our cross country and track & field program, RMU Director of Athletics Craig Coleman, M.D., said at the time of her appointment. She has impressive credentials and great accomplishments as both an assistant and head coach at Duquesne as well as during her time as a student-athlete at Tennessee. Her energy and positive attitude will ensure even greater success for our cross country and track & field programs in the future. Cotter joined Robert Morris after spending the six years at Duquesne. From 2009 to 2013, Cotter served as an assistant track & field coach and recruiting coordinator for the Dukes before being elevated to head coach in 2013. During her time as head coach at Duquesne, Cotter helped guide the womens cross country team to a pair of Atlantic 10 championships (2013, 2014). In honor of earning back-to-back titles, Cotter was selected as the 2014 Atlantic 10 Womens Cross Country Coach of the Year. Overall during her tenure with the Dukes, Cotter coached a total of 22 Atlantic 10 champions and nine NCAA Division I qualifiers. Prior to joining Duquesne, Cotter spent two seasons at California University of Pennsylvania. She served as a graduate assistant with the program in 2007-08 as well as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in 2008-09 under two-time Olympic Gold medalist Roger Kingdom. Cotter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and criminal justice from the University of Tennessee in 2006 as well as a Master of Science degree in business administration from California University of Pennsylvania in 2008. During her time at the University of Tennessee, Cotter was a four-year letterwinner for the Volunteers as a heptalthlete. Cotter is a native of Gibsonia, Pa., and resides in Pittsburgh with her husband, Sean, and sons Colt and Steel. Tweet #ColonialPride
