McCown then spent 20 years at Maranatha High School in Pasadena, California, from 1993 to 2013 as the Cross Country and Track & Field coach, where he helped establish an elite running program. As a former collegiate Cross Country and Track & Field athlete at Seattle Pacific University, McCown is very familiar with various training regiments and writes workouts for all his athletes throughout the season. Her years of competitive running and passion for working with college students make her an excellent coach. Among the athletes, she is known as Aunt Jen because of her hospitality and delicious pies.
