Bonner enters her sixth year as Assistant Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator and Head Womens Tennis Coach at Roberts Wesleyan. Bonner was instrumental in spearheading the NCAA Membership process to successfully transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II.  Coach Bonner led the Womens Tennis Team to obtaining the regional bid to the NCCAA National Championships in Mobile, Alabama for the third year in a row in 2015.  The Redhawks have earned individual awards including East Coast Conference First and Second Team All-Conference, NCCAA First and Second Team All-American. Team academic awards include ITA Scholar Team award for three years and NCCAA Scholar Team award. Coach Bonner currently serves on the NCAA East Region Tennis Advisory Committee and is a member of the NCAA DII National Tennis Coaches Council; She also serves on the NCCAA All-American Selection Committee.  Bonner is a USPTA and USPTR certified tennis professional. Coach Bonners career win-loss record for the ECC is 15-15 and overall is 60-52. Prior to her appointment, Coach Bonner served for eight years at Midtown Athletic Club in Rochester, New York as a teaching pro and Tennis Membership Director, as well as coaching womens USTA teams. Bonner has also worked at Tennis Club of Rochester. From 1994-2000, Bonner was Residence Director and Intramural Coordinator at Montreat College in North Carolina. Bonner was also on the national planning & implementation team for PFR national youth conferences and administrator of youth ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Orlando, Florida. Bonner resides in Fairport, New York with her husband of 34 years and has two adult children who are twins, both graduating from college this year. Bonner competed for Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida and graduated in 1980. She was undefeated first singles for Harborfields High School in Long Island, New York. Coach Bonner fondly recollects the 70s Tennis Boom and witnessing McEnroes rise to fame while attending the US Open when it was held at Westside Tennis Club in Forest Hills.  Coach Bonner comments on her current position, Having had a love for the game of tennis since a young age, it is interesting and challenging to keep current on the changes in the game from the strokes to equipment to the college format.  It is a privilege to coach such fine athletes. The student-athletes are often from all over the world and yet become great team members and friends despite the varied cultures and first languages. Bonner comments on the nature of team dynamics, One of the funniest parts of coaching international student-athletes is to hear them correcting each others English. Every group of incoming freshmen are excited to visit New York City and Washington DC when traveling to our conference matches. We always have a great time on these trips. I enjoy the challenge of competing in the East Coast Conference and look forward to a successful season next year.
