Wilson enters his 18th season as head coach of the RIT men's hockey team in 2016-17 and has guided the Tigers to a 320-195-60 record. On June 4, 2015, Wilson signed a seven-year contract extension that runs through the 2021-22 season. Under Wilsons guidance, RIT has become one of the most successful and respected programs in all of college hockey.   Last season, Wilson led the Tigers to their second consecutive Atlantic Hockey Conference Championship and third trip to the NCAA Division I Tournament. In 2014-15, RIT won the Atlantic Hockey Championship, and knocked off the No. 1 team in the country for the first time at the Division I level, defeating Minnesota State in the NCAA Midwest Regional Semifinal.  The Guelph, Ontario, native has led the Tigers to a stellar 195-140-46 record since the start of the 2006-07 season, including a 155-82-39 mark all-time in 10 seasons of Atlantic Hockey play. RIT won four AHC regular season championships in a five-year span (2007, 2009, 2010, 2011) and advanced to three straight AHC Championship games from 2010-12. Since arriving at RIT in 1999, all of Wilsons four-year players have won at least one championship (regular season or playoff). In 10 seasons as part of Atlantic Hockey, RIT has won four regular season titles, three postseason championships, and made three NCAA Tournament appearances.    Wilson enjoyed a magical year behind the bench in 2009-10. He, along with the Tigers, accrued a bevy of individual and team accomplishments, including the Spencer Penrose Award as Division I National Coach of the Year. Wilson became the first coach to win the National Coach of the Year at both the Division I and Division III levels. He led RIT to its first Atlantic Hockey Championship, and a spot in the NCAA Division I Tournament. The Tigers captured the attention of the country as they made their historic run to the Frozen Four, playing in front of 34,954 fans at Ford Field in Detroit. RIT finished the season with a school record 28 wins and finished the season ranked No. 10 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine National Poll. The Tigers set AHC records for most wins (22) and points (45) in one season, winning the regular season title by 10 points. RIT was the only Division I team to win its conference regular season and postseason championships. On Oct. 30, 2009, Wilson became the all-time leader in coaching wins at RIT, picking up his 189th victory in a 6-2 win over Connecticut. On Jan. 15, 2010, Wilson recorded his 200th win, as RIT blanked Connecticut, 4-0. Wilson became the first RIT coach to amass 300 wins in a 2-1 victory over Canisius on March 20, 2015. In 11 seasons of Division I play, Wilson has led the Tigers to several victories over nationally ranked teams. In addition to the 2015 NCAA Tournament win over top-ranked Minnesota State, RIT recorded wins over No. 2 Denver, and No. 12 New Hampshire in the NCAA East Regional on March 26-27, 2010 and No. 3 Michigan at famed Yost Arena on Oct. 11, 2012. Under Wilson's tutelage, the Tigers have defeated at least one nationally-ranked team in nine of 11 Division I seasons. On Oct. 27, 2007, the Tigers defeated then No. 18 Cornell 4-1, and two months later, on Dec. 29, RIT shocked the Division I hockey landscape, defeating No. 14 Minnesota at the Dodge Holiday Classic in front of 10,046 fans at Mariucci Arena. On Oct. 30, 2010, the Tigers defeated No. 14 Cornell for the second straight time, 5-3 at famed Lynah Rink in Ithaca. In 2007-08, forward Simon Lambert became the first RIT player to be named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. The season before, RIT won the Atlantic Hockey regular season title in its first year in the league. Wilson coached Matt Garbowsky, RITs second finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, college hockeys finest honor in 2014-15. He was also named a 2015 CCM Hockey Second Team All-American, USCHO.com second team pick, and Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year. Wilson is no stranger to success at the collegiate level. He won a national title as a player at Bowling Green State University in 1984. He also led the Falcons to three NCAA Tournament appearances as an assistant coach. At the Division III level, Wilson led RIT to four NCAA tournament appearances and four ECAC West Tournament titles and was named the ECAC West Coach of the Year three times. He earned AHCA Coach of the Year honors in 2000-01 when he guided the Tigers to their fifth appearance in the NCAA Division III National Championship game after an unbeaten regular season (22-0-1, finished 26-1-1). During his time at RIT, Wilson has coached 11 All-American selections (two-time selection Jerry Galway, Pat Staerker, Derek Hahn, Peter Bournazakis, Mike Bournazakis, Tyler Euverman, Mike Tarantino, Dan Ringwald, Shane Madolora, and Matt Garbowsky). In 2001, Jerry Galway became only the second player in RIT history to be named NCAA Division III AHCA Player of the Year. In 2009-10, Jared DeMichiel and Dan Ringwald were the AHC Goaltender and Defenseman of the Year, respectively. Ringwald earned All-USCHO.com second team honors and was a three-time All-AHC first team selection. Chris Tanev was named the 2010 AHC Rookie of the Year, while Shane Madolora garnered the 2011 AHC Goaltender of the Year honor and was an All-AHC first team selection in 2012. Lambert won the Atlantic Hockey Leading scorer award in 2008, while Garbowsky swept all major Atlantic Hockey honors in 2015. Last year, Chase Norrish was named Atlantic Hockeys Top Defenseman. Overall, 26 different Tigers have earned 50 All-AHC honors since 2006-07. Many of Wilsons players have graduated and moved on to professional careers within their field of study. Last season, nine players earned Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team honors. In 2010, Mark Cornacchia, won the NCAA Elite 88 Award for Academic Excellence. While at Bowling Green, several of Wilsons players (including Rob Blake, Nelson Emerson, and Brian Holzinger) went on to successful careers in the National Hockey League. In 2007, Steve Pinizzotto became the first Tiger to sign an NHL contract at the Division I level. Pinizzotto was a key component of the two-time Calder Cup Champion Hershey Bears of the AHL and made his NHL debut with Vancouver in 2012-13. Since the end of the 2006-07 season, 39 players have gone on to sign pro contracts, including Tanev, who signed with the Vancouver Canucks in June 2010. Tyler Brenner signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs in March 2011. Tanev became RITs first player to suit up in an NHL contest, making his debut with the Canucks on Jan. 18, 2011. He has appeared in 295 career NHL games for the Canucks through the 2015-16 season, including the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. Tanev, who helped lead Team Canada to a gold medal at the 2016 World Championships, will enter his seventh NHL season in 2016-17. Wilson earned a degree in health, physical education, and recreation from Bowling Green in 1984, and added his masters degree in education at BGSU in 1987. He lives in Rochester with his wife, Lynn, pediatric registered nurse, and they have two children Stephanie (27) and Stu (24). Stephanie graduated from Bowling Green in 2011, resides in Cleveland, Ohio, works for Quicken Loans Arena as a Box Office Special Events Manager, and is married to Kyle Konczos. Stu, a 2016 graduate of Yale University, played a vital role in helping lead the Bulldogs to the 2013 NCAA Division I Ice Hockey Championship and earned First Team All-Ivy League honors in 2016. Brian Hills

Associate Head Coach

Hills begins his 12th season at RIT, and tenth as the associate head coach in 2016-17. Hills, who joined RIT before its inaugural season of Division I play in 2005, is a vital reason for RITs success. In 2011, Hills received the prestigious Terry Flanagan Award from the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA), honoring an outstanding assistant coachs career body of work. Hills has played a major role in recruiting and building a team that won the 2010 Atlantic Hockey and NCAA East Region Championships and advanced to the Frozen Four. Last season, the Tigers won their second consecutive AHC Championship and advanced to the NCAA East Regional. In addition, Hills helped lead RIT to four Atlantic Hockey Championship game appearances, and four Atlantic Hockey Regular Season championships over a six-season span. Hills played an integral role in the development of defenseman Chris Tanev, the 2010 Atlantic Hockey Association Rookie of the Year, who signed as a free agent with the Vancouver Canucks in May 2010. Tanev made his NHL debut on Jan. 18, 2011, played 29 regular season games, and five playoff games for the Canucks, including games five, six, and seven of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. Tanev, who won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2016 World Championships, will enter his seventh NHL season in 2016-17. Before his success at RIT, Hills was the head coach at SUNY Geneseo for four seasons. In his last season at Geneseo, he led the Knights to a record of 18-7-4, a SUNYAC Championship, the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament, and a No. 7 ranking in the final Division III poll. Hills amassed a record of 53-42-14 while reviving the Geneseo hockey program. His record during his final two seasons at Geneseo was 32-14-9. Prior to his stint at Geneseo, Hills coached for seven years at his alma mater, Division I Bowling Green State University and also assisted with Team Canadas national team selection committee in 1997 and 1998. He also coached the Chur (Switzerland) Junior Hockey Team in 1986-87. Hills is a 1983 graduate of Bowling Green, where he was a teammate of RIT head coach Wayne Wilson. Hills was a two-time All-American and two-time Hobey Baker Memorial Award finalist. He led the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) in scoring twice and was the CCHA Player of the Year in 1983. In addition, Hills was a two-time CCHA All-Academic team member, and was a second team CoSIDA/GTE Academic All-American as a senior. Hills left Bowling Green as its all-time leading scorer and is currently second on the list. He scored 116 goals and added 154 assists for 270 points in 156 games. In 1982-83 he set a school single-season record that still stands with 94 points (37-57-94) in 40 games. Hills led the Falcons in scoring during his final three seasons. After graduating from Bowling Green with a degree in business administration, Hills spent 11 seasons playing professionally in Europeeight years in Switzerland and three in Germany. He won three gold medals with Team Canada in Europes Spengler Cup before returning to his alma mater, where he spent seven seasons as an assistant coach from 1994-2001. Hills lives in Honeoye Falls with his wife, Andrea. They have two children, a daughter Alexandra (27), and son Trevor (24). Alexandra was a forward on the RIT womens hockey team that won the 2012 NCAA Division III National Championship. She also earned her bachelors degree from the university and was married in August, 2016. Trevor will begin his senior season on the hockey team at SUNY Geneseo in 2016-17. Last year, he was an American Hockey Coaches Association Second Team All-American and led Division III in goals per game. Dave Insalaco

Associate Head Coach

Insalaco enters his ninth season as an assistant coach for the RIT mens hockey program. His tireless work ethic and knack for finding several quality recruits has helped the Tigers become one of the top teams in Division I, as evidenced by the squads three Atlantic Hockey Championships, trip to the 2010 NCAA Division I Frozen Four, 2015 NCAA Midwest Regional Final, and 2016 East Regional. Since arriving at the university in 2008, Insalaco has played a vital role in RITs rise to one of the most successful Division I programs in the nation. He is one of the foremost visionaries in utilizing video in all aspects of the game from scouting and coaching to recruiting.   In 2009, 2011, and 2012, Insalaco coached at the USA Hockey Select Under-17 and Under-16 Development camps in Rochester with several of the nations top collegiate coaches. In 2011, he was chosen to coach in the Select 17 All-Star game. Insalaco returned to Rochester after spending two seasons with the Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League. Midway through the 2007-08 season, he took over as the head coach and general manager, coaching former RIT standouts Cameron Burt and Taylor McReynolds, along with Chris Saracino. In 2006-07, Insalaco also coached former Tiger captain Sean Murphy. Insalaco began his coaching career in 2002-03 as a volunteer assistant at The College at Brockport. In 2003-04, he moved to SUNY Geneseo as an assistant coach, where he served under current RIT Associate Head Coach Brian Hills for two seasons. During Insalacos three seasons at SUNY Geneseo, the Ice Knights went 51-23-11 and earned two NCAA Division III Tournament berths. The Greece native played collegiately at SUNY Brockport from 1996-00, tallying 47 goals and 62 assists for 109 points in 108 career games for the Golden Eagles. He is seventh all-time at SUNY Brockport in goals and 10th in points. Insalaco was an All-SUNYAC second team selection in 2000 and Chase Memorial Academic Athletic Scholarship winner. Insalaco played two years of professional hockey for the Adirondack IceHawks of the United Hockey League from 2000-02, recording 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points in 128 career games. He quickly became a fan favorite in Adirondack, winning the Unsung Hero and 110 Percent Award as voted on by the fans in 2001-02. Insalaco helped lead Adirondack to a division title in 2000-01. In addition, Insalacos sister Kim was a member of the 2006 United States Womens Olympic Hockey Team that earned a bronze medal in Turin, Italy. Insalaco, who earned his bachelors and masters degrees in education from The College at Brockport, lives in Fairport with his wife, Erika, son, David, and daughter, Clare.   Dave Insalaco Assistant Coach Dave Insalaco enters his ninth season as an assistant coach for the RIT mens hockey program. Midway through the 2007-08 season, he took over as the head coach and general manager, coaching former RIT standouts Cameron Burt and Taylor McReynolds, along with Chris Saracino. In 2006-07, Insalaco also coached former Tiger captain Sean Murphy. Insalaco began his coaching career in 2002-03 as a volunteer assistant at The College at Brockport. In 2003-04, he moved to SUNY Geneseo as an assistant coach, where he served under current RIT Associate Head Coach Brian Hills for two seasons. During Insalacos three seasons at SUNY Geneseo, the Ice Knights went 51-23-11 and earned two NCAA Division III Tournament berths. The Greece native played collegiately at SUNY Brockport from 1996-00, tallying 47 goals and 62 assists for 109 points in 108 career games for the Golden Eagles. He is seventh all-time at SUNY Brockport in goals and 10th in points. Insalaco was an All-SUNYAC second team selection in 2000 and Chase Memorial Academic Athletic Scholarship winner. Insalaco played two years of professional hockey for the Adirondack IceHawks of the United Hockey League from 2000-02, recording 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points in 128 career games. He quickly became a fan favorite in Adirondack, winning the Unsung Hero and 110 Percent Award as voted on by the fans in 2001-02. Insalaco helped lead Adirondack to a division title in 2000-01. In addition, Insalacos sister Kim was a member of the 2006 United States Womens Olympic Hockey Team that earned a bronze medal in Turin, Italy. Insalaco, who earned his bachelors and masters degrees in education from The College at Brockport, lives in Fairport with his wife, Erika, son, David, and daughter, Clare.

Jeff Siegel

Assistant Coach

Siegel enters his eleventh season at RIT in 2016-17. On April 1, 2016, he became the Associate Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Siegel was previously the Assistant Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Men's Hockey Operations Manager.   In his expanded role, Siegel oversees all aspects of game and event management for all of RIT's 22 Division III and two Division I sports, game scheduling, student employee supervision, and several other responsibilities within the athletics department.   As assistant athletics director, Siegel managed all aspects of RIT's Division I men's hockey game day management, travel, and equipment operations and supervised the student-athlete equipment cage. Siegel also assisted the athletics department with event management, facility management, budgeting associated with team travel, capital projects, intercession planning as well as maintaining responsibility for three equipment operations.   Since 2010, Siegel has spearheaded several fundraising initiatives through the mens and womens hockey programs for organizations such as Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, CURE Childhood Cancer, Autism Up, "One Team One Fight", and the Testicular Cancer Foundation of Western New York. Since arriving at the university in 2006, Siegel has been an invaluable asset to not only the hockey programs, but also the entire athletics department, helping streamline pre and post game day operations.   In 2015, Siegel graduated from RIT with a masters degree in professional studies from the school of individualized study. His concentrations were project management and marketing. Siegel graduated from New England College in 2006 with a degree in sports and recreation management. He was named Sport and Recreation Management Student of the Year. While at New England College, Siegel worked as the equipment manager for the mens ice hockey team. He also handled game operations and community relations. In the summer of 2005, Siegel worked as a game operations intern for the Manchester Wolves of the Arena Football 2 League.
