Lloyd McWilliams
Head Coach
McWilliams is entering his third season as the head golf coach at Rockford University. McWilliams brings a coaching philosophy that allows his golfers to learn and have fun simultaneously. Coach McWilliams believes it is most effective to allow each golfer to learn in his or her own way in order to maximize improvement on the golf course. McWilliams brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Regents golf program. He was elected to PGA membership in February 2009 and passed his PGA Instruction Certification in April 2009. McWilliams is a 5-time Rockford Mens City Golf Champion and a 6-time USGA National PubLinks qualifier. He was also elected into the first class of the Rockford Area Golf Hall of Fame. As part of his current work in the community he teaches special needs golf classes for the Rockford Park District and volunteers for numerous PGA junior events. McWilliams is well known in the Rockford Community and has established himself as a top-notch professional in the golfing world. He is currently in his eleventh year as a golf instructor at the Rockford Park District and also was an assistant coach at Rockford Christian Life High School from 2005-2008. In 2011 Coach McWilliams founded the Lloyd McWilliams Winter Golf Academy to help young golfers improve both their minds and bodies to prepare them for the challenges of not only competitive golf but life as well. Students receive technology based teaching to help improve their swing and putting stroke along with mental and physical workout segments to help students succeed on the golf course. In its brief history, the academy has already produced dozens of collegiate golfers. Lloyd McWilliams is entering his third season as the head golf coach at Rockford University.
