Nate Guagliardi enters his third season, after being named the ninth head coach in Rutgers-Newark women's soccer history on Monday, January 30, 2023. Guagliardi joined the Scarlet Raiders from Division II Caldwell University. In his first season as head coach at Rutgers-Newark, Guagliardi coached the Raiders to a 7-11 overall record and 3-6 mark in conference play. In his season debut, Guagliardi and the Raiders topped Union College, 2-1, to jump start his Rutgers-Newark coaching experience. Leila Ettayebi was named to the All-NJAC First Team, while Tamia Howell and Seoane Oaxaca both earned All-NJAC Honorable Mention nods. Guagliardi has spent the last 16 seasons as the Assistant Athletic Director/Head Women's Soccer Coach for Caldwell University. During his tenure with the Cougars, Guagliardi won three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships, the first coming in 2013, for the first championship in the program's 16-year history. On the back of that championship, Caldwell also made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The 2008 CACC Coach of the Year & 2x ECAC Division II Coach of the Year elevated the Cougars to new heights and was an integral part of the success not only on the pitch but also in the classroom. Under Guagliardi, the women's soccer team was an 11-time recipient of the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award. On top of that, he also had 17 players named to the 2022 CACC All-Conference Academic Team as well as six players named to the CoSIDA NCAA Division II Academic All-District Team. On the pitch, Guagliardi won three CACC Championships (2013, 2016, 2018) and coached two NCAA Division II All-Americans, 17 NCAA Division II All-Region student-athletes, a CACC Conference Player and Defensive Player of the Year along with two CACC Rookie of the Year. He continued to bring the best out of his players which led to 38 CACC All-Conference players during his tenure. In 2022, Guagliardi almost returned to the CACC Championship game, however, the Cougars were knocked out in the semifinal in penalty kicks.  Building off of his first NCAA Tournament trip in 2013, Guagliardi led the Cougars to two more NCAA berths in 2016 and 2018 after setting school records in 2012 with 14 total wins, 11 conference wins, and goals scored (53). During his playing career, Guagliardi was a standout goalie for Caldwell where he set school records in shutouts and goals against. He brings experience to the Scarlet Raiders and his career record of 142-127-23 (.526) was the highest in Rutgers-Newark history, topping previous leader, Ariana Ruela who left the Scarlet Raiders with an overall record of 53-55-12 (.492).  Guagliardi graduated from Caldwell with a Bachelor's in Social Studies Education and is currently finishing his Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. Joseph's professional journey has primarily been in the field of education, where he has served as a Social Studies Educator specializing in Psychology and Sociology at Lacey Twp. High School since 2003. In this capacity, he has honed his skills in communication, leadership, and mentoring, which are highly transferable to a coaching role. His coaching experience is impressive, particularly in soccer, with various roles at Lacey Twp. High School, Drew University, and Ramapo College of New Jersey. His achievements as Head Men's Soccer Coach at Lacey Twp. High School include accolades such as being named Atlantic City Press Coach of the Year in 2011, leading his team to B-South Champions in 2011, and guiding them to the NJSIAA Group III State Semi-finals in 2010-2011. Joseph was also recognized as the All Shore Media A-South Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2013. He has further expanded his coaching repertoire through roles at Drew University and Ramapo College of New Jersey, where he contributed to training sessions, scouting, and recruiting efforts. Joseph's experience extends beyond the high school and collegiate levels into the realm of youth soccer. He has been involved with the Players Development Academy (PDA), coaching various girls' and boys' teams from 2004 to 2019, and serving as Camp Coordinator and Instructor for PDA camps during this time. Additionally, he has been a Professional Trainer at Stafford Soccer Club and Mullica Soccer Club from 2014 to 2016. Joseph has also been engaged in college camp experiences at Monmouth University, Georgian Court University, Villanova University, Johns Hopkins, and Exact Soccer College ID Clinic, contributing to the development of young soccer talent. With a rich background in education and an extensive coaching portfolio, Joseph D'Arcangelo is poised to make a meaningful impact as an assistant coach at Rutgers University-Newark, bringing his expertise in operations, recruiting, session planning, and game day responsibilities to support Coach Guagliardi and the staff.

Ana Silveira, a dedicated and accomplished individual from Newark, NJ, has forged a path of excellence in both academics and athletics. Ana's educational journey led her to Rutgers University-Newark, where she pursued a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice, graduating with an impressive GPA of 3.950/4 in December 2022. Her coursework delved into areas like financial crime, justice law, policy, and criminal law, reflecting her commitment to the field. Prior to her master's degree, Ana earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology in May 2021, further highlighting her academic prowess with a GPA of 3.693/4. Throughout her undergraduate years, Ana consistently made the Dean's list for seven semesters. Her studies encompassed subjects like criminal justice research methods and psychology research methods, showcasing her multidisciplinary approach to understanding human behavior and the law. Ana's dedication extends beyond the classroom as she actively contributes to her community and sports. She currently serves as the Women's Soccer Assistant Coach at Rutgers University-Newark, collaborating with the coaching staff to strategize for the season, scout new talent, and foster a positive team environment. Her role reflects her passion for soccer and her desire to help players grow both as athletes and individuals. Furthermore, Ana's leadership qualities shine through her role as Head Coach at the Match Fit Academy: Essex in Newark. Here, she imparts her knowledge to players of various ages, nurturing their soccer skills and instilling valuable life lessons in a safe and supportive environment. Under her guidance, teams have achieved notable success. Ana's leadership abilities are further exemplified by her tenure as Captain of the Rutgers Women's Soccer Team from August 2017 to May 2021. In this role, she played a pivotal role in fostering a positive team mentality, leading her team to postseason success in three out of four years. This experience honed her communication, teamwork, and work ethic. Ana's commitment to personal and professional development is evident through her participation in The Braven Accelerator, where she was selected as a Fellow. Here, she refined essential skills such as time management, effective communication, and problem-solving while creating a career timeline to guide her toward her goals. Beyond her impressive academic and leadership achievements, Ana boasts fluency in Portuguese and conversational Spanish, reflecting her multicultural perspective. Her technical proficiency in Microsoft Office complements her diverse skill set. In her leisure time, Ana enjoys staying active through running, working out, and, of course, playing soccer. Her dedication to sports, education, and community engagement exemplifies her well-rounded character and her commitment to making a positive impact on those around her.
