Bennett led the squad to top-five finishes in eight of nine tournaments between the fall and spring campaigns including a pair of first-place finishes at the SGU Cavalier Classic and the Central Baptist Spring Invitational. To go with their victory at the Cavalier Classic, the men also set a new school two-round scoring record of 579 (289-290). The women were impressive during the 2015-2016 season as well, notching one top-five finish in the spring along with a top-three finish and a new tournament scoring record of 665 (335-330) at the Southwestern Christian Fall Intercollegiate and the programs first ever victory at the Fall Midwest Classic. The women also saw multiple top-10 and top-5 finishes individually throughout the year. Bennett, a native of Stillwater, Okla., played golf collegiately at his alma mater, Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
