Kent Reiber

Head Coach

Reiber, assistant cross country coach at Saint Leo University for the past four seasons, begins his first season as head coach for the Lions mens and womens cross country and distance track programs in 2015-16. He began his new duties on May 27, 2015. Kent Reiber has been a large part of the rise and success of our cross country program. He was a key element in the mens team qualifying for nationals the last two seasons and we feel he is ready to assume the leadership role of the two programs, along with distance track, said Francis X. Reidy, Saint Leo director of athletics. I am confident in a smooth transition that will result in continued success with Kent as the next head coach. Reiber had been the programs interim head coach since mid-April 2015. He was instrumental in coaching Saint Leo mens and womens cross country to Sunshine State Conference Championships in 2014, the first conference titles in either programs history. Saint Leo mens cross country runners claimed back-to-back SSC individual titles under Reibers tutelage in 2013 and 2014, while Valentin Lenz was named the 2013 United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South Region Athlete of the Year. In womens cross country, Reiber helped coach a pair of womens SSC individual champions in Tereza Novotna (2011) and Colett Rampf (2014).  Novotna became Saint Leos first qualifier for the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championship, after finishing second in a photo-finish at the 2011 NCAA South Region meet. Since his arrival at Saint Leo in 2011, Reiber has coached three SSC individual champions, two SSC runners of the year, and three SSC freshmen of the year. In Spring 2015, Reiber coached Rampf (womens 3000m steeplechase) and Herns Agyemang-Duah (mens 800m) to appearances at the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Reiber is a 2011 graduate of Marietta College with a Bachelor of Science degree in health science, and received his Master of Business Administration from Saint Leo in 2013. He holds USA Track and Field (USATF) Level II Certification and is a member of the USATF Coaches Registry. Reiber came to Saint Leo after one year of coaching at Marietta, and helped coach the Pioneers' first-ever male runner to the Division III national championship, as well as multiple male and female Academic All-Region awards. In addition, Reiber also spent time as the Avon Lake High School (Avon, Ohio) volunteer assistant in 2006. Adriane Wunderlich

Assistant Coach

Wunderlich is in her first season as a member of the Saint Leo cross country coaching staff. She will coordinate the Lions recruiting and on-campus visits and arrange for team travel, in addition to working with all members of the mens and womens cross country teams. Wunderlich joins the Saint Leo staff following three years at Texas A&M-Kingsville, where she coached distance runners for the Javelinas. Under Wunderlichs tutelage, TAMUK cross country and track runners earned four NCAA Division II All-America honors, three Lone Star Conference individual championships, and set five school records. Competing in the tough Lone Star Conference, Texas A&M-Kingsville won the 2014 LSC Mens Outdoor Track and Field Championship with Wunderlich on the coaching staff. The Javelinas went on to post a fourth place finish at the 2014 NCAAs outdoor track championship, and repeated the fourth place finish at the 2015 NCAA outdoor meet.  While on the TAMUK staff, Wunderlich organized and facilitated daily practices for mens and womens cross country and distance runners, and managed the teams academic study hall. Adriane brings a wealth of knowledge to our program, and her experience at the national level will surely help us retain our conference titles, said Kent Reiber, Saint Leos head mens and womens cross country coach. She has demonstrated a passion for learning our sport, and has had success implementing that knowledge into her coaching.  Im confident that she will make an immediate impact on our athletes, and will continue to build a successful culture. Along with her knowledge of our sport Adriane is very connected with cross country and track coaches around the country which will be instrumental in finding future Lions, as some of our top athletes are set to graduate this coming summer, added Reiber. She previously served as a volunteer assistant cross country and track and field coach at Division III Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and served as a graduate assistant at Division I Indiana State University. A 2010 graduate of Indiana State with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science, Wunderlich was a four-year letterwinner for the Sycamores cross country and track team. She served as a team captain in 2010 as a senior, and was an All-Missouri Valley Conference selection in 2008. Wunderlich also received her Master of Arts degree from Indiana State in 2012. Wunderlich holds multiple certifications from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
