Brigid Brady

Assistant Coach

Brady became the first coach with consecutive six-win seasons to begin her tenure since in 1998 and 1999. The Purple Knights' 6-7 mark in NE-10 play left them one shy of a school record for league wins. They excelled in numerous facets, matching their highest goal (137) and point (178) totals since 2008, snagging the most draw controls (197) since 2010, and recording their second-lowest goals-against average in nine seasons. Among all NE-10 squads, Saint Michael's was third in draw control margin (+2.8). Despite assuming the position after the completion of the 2013 non-traditional fall season, Brady led the Purple Knights to their highest win total in six seasons during the spring of 2014. Saint Michael's also touted its best goals-against average (9.79) in 11 years and its highest assists figure in six seasons while kicking off the campaign 4-0, its best start in 15 springs. Against the teams that ultimately claimed the No. 3 through 6 seeds in the NE-10 Championship, the Purple and Gold yielded an average of 9.5 goals before closing the season with a narrow 15-12 loss to the University of New Haven, which was ranked fourth nationally. Saint Michael's was sixth in the NE-10 in GAA. Brady came to Saint Michael's after serving three seasons as a graduate assistant at national power New Haven, her alma mater. The Chargers went a combined 35-20 overall between 2011 and 2013, including 25-11 in the NE-10, while being nationally ranked for the entirety of the 2012 and 2013 seasons, landing as high as sixth in the Division II poll. In her graduate assistant position with New Haven, Brady performed such tasks as recruiting, scouting, player skill development, and organizing and planning practices. During the 2009-10 school year, Brady gained a tremendous amount of coaching experience in England, including working as a lacrosse development officer in Manchester through the English Lacrosse Association, the national governing body for the sport. She also served as the women's lacrosse head coach at the University of Manchester, recruiting and evaluating players while selecting a final roster, organizing practices, and coordinating travel plans. In July 2010, Brady was a project coordinator during the men's Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship in Manchester, handling logistics and training employees during the event. Since 2008, Brady has volunteered as a coach with Bridgeport (Conn.) Youth Lacrosse, working with inner-city 8- to 14-year-olds as they learn the sport of lacrosse. Between 2012 and 2013, Brady coached eighth grade girls with the Nor'easter Lacrosse Club of Branford, Conn. A decorated player during her undergraduate career, Brady graduated with New Haven's career records for points (245) and goals (220), as well as the Chargers' single-season mark for tallies. She served as a captain during 2008 and 2009, her final two seasons of college, while leading the Chargers to a combined 30-7 record and their first NCAA Tournament appearance, in 2009. Brady earned an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America laurel in 2008 in addition to drawing three all-region honors and four all-conference nods. She was also invited to compete in the IWLCA North-South Senior All-Star Game in 2009. Brady was named NE-10 Academic All-Conference as a senior after landing on the East Coast Conference (ECC) Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll as a junior. After earning her bachelor's degree in political science in 2009, Brady completed her master of business administration with a concentration in sport management in 2013.
