Saint Peter's University Women's Softball

Alyssa Ruiz '17, '20 leads the Peacocks for her first season in the dugout as head coach in 2025. Ruiz previously served as the assistant coach for seven seasons from 2018-2024 after playing four years for Saint Peter's from 2014-1017. Ruiz took over as the Pitching Coach in 2023 to add to her responsibilities as the Outfield Coach. She is a vital part of Saint Peters Softball and has been her entire career. Her first season as the Pitching Coach saw an improvement in Team ERA, Wins, and Batting Average against. Ruiz came right out of the circle as a Peacock pitcher to the dugout as a coach for the 2018 season. She has worked with NJ Heat Softball and Kaboom Softball. She spends her summer promoting the program at camps and clinics and has had a huge impact on the recruiting front. Ruiz is a 2017 Graduate of Saint Peters and earned her Masters of Arts in Education in School Counseling in 2020 from Saint Peters and is currently the Dean of Culture/School Counselor for St. Dominicks Academy in Jersey City, NJ.
