Mike Scolamieri
Head Coach
Scolamieri is in his 11th season as the women's tennis head coach. He started out as the mens head coach and later added the women to his slate after their head coach departed. Scolamieri graduated from St. Aloysius High School where he was a basketball star on their 1959 New Jersey State Championship team. He continued his basketball career at the collegiate level playing for St. Marys of the Plains in Kansas and later transferred to New Jersey City University. At NJCU, Scolamieri earned his Bachelors Degree in Social Studies with a minor in English. He earned an M.A. in Curriculum and Teaching at Columbia University. Scolamieri started his coaching career as a head tennis coach at St. Marys High School in Jersey City. He is a member of the Arlington Players Tennis Club (APC) in Kearny, NJ and the Balboa Park Tennis Club in San Diego, CA. In 1991, he won the APC Singles "B" Championship. In 2002, he was one half of the APC Doubles Champions. Scolamieri recently resigned as captain of two adult league teams in the Arlington Players Tennis Club. He is a 30 year member of the United States Tennis Association and is a certified Cardio Tennis Instructor. Mike and his wife Elisa, who is his assistant coach, reside in Clifton, New Jersey.
