Katrina Thoreson
Assistant Coach
Thoreson returns in 2014 as an assistant coach for Miramar's women's water polo team. In addition to coaching at Miramar College, Katrina is coaching water polo at Del Norte High School and for the Pacific Polo water polo club. Born and raised in San Diego, Thoreson played water polo at Rancho Bernardo HS from 2004-2008, where she received first team All-CIF Division 1, first team All-North County, second team All-CIFSDS, and Palomar League MVP honors. She continued her water polo carrier at the NCAA level, at Whittier College from 2008-2012. Thorsen was recognized as a three-time All-American and All-SCIAC second team as well as a two-time Academic All-American. She currently holds the record for most goals scored in a career at Whittier College. Thoreson is currently is attending the University of San Diego for her Master's degree in History.

Amy Jennings
Assistant Coach
Jennings is a local San Diegan graduating from San Pasqual High School in 1998. She played volleyball, softball and participated in the first and second CIF sanctioned girls water polo season in 1996 and 1997. Amy played two years of water polo, two years of swim, and one year of softball at Palomar College. She was awarded All Conference and All American honors for Water Polo in 1998 & 2000. The 2000 Womens Water Polo team was awarded Conference Champions and placed 4th in State. Amy started coaching water polo in 1998 as the Novice coach for Vista High School. She continued coaching there as JV, and Assistant Varsity Coach for 8 years. In 2003 Amy returned home to Palomar College as Women's Assistant Water Polo coach for 4 years. Amy became the Girls Head Water Polo Coach at Westview H.S in 2006. Her team has made CIF appearances every year since 2007. In 2013 her team finished 3rd in CIF, 2nd in 2014. When CIF water polo changed to a ranking system Amys team was ranked 5th in all of San Diego for 2015 and 2016. Amy was also Assistant Swim coach for Westview in 2007. In 2013 Amy was awarded Westview Coach of the Year and inducted into the Westview Coaching Hall of Fame in 2016. She recently has signed on to be the head girls water polo coach at La Jolla High School as well as the Head coach for the girls age group teams at La Jolla Water Polo Club. In 2007, Amy accepted the Head Coaching position for Womens Water Polo at Miramar College. In her first year heading up the Jets, she was honored with Pacific Coast Conference Coach of the Year. Amy was also awarded with Miramar Womens Coach of the Year in 2016. Amy attended San Diego State University where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology. She earned her Masters Degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in 2008. Today, Amy continues to compete on the Darkside (formerly OMBAC) Womens Water Polo Masters team where they have repeatedly gold medaled in the 20+ and 30+ divisions. In her free time she does private swim lessons for children and adults and surfs as often as possible. Amy currently resides in Clairemont with her husband Billy and three children Coral (7), Shelby (5) and William (2).
