Bill Pilczuk

Head Coach

Pilczuk is entering his second year as the head coach for the men's and women's swimming after being hired in August 2015. In his first year at the helm Pilczuk led the women's swim team to its third NAIA National Championship in program history, while the men's team finished as NAIA National Runner-Ups for the first time in program history. The two teams combined for 14 national titles and 67 All-Americans. Both programs were also ranked #1 in the NAIA polls throughout the season. Prior to being named head coach, Pilczuk served as an assisant coach at SCAD for two season. Pilczuk has helped lead both the men's and women's team to top five finishes at the NAIA National Championships in 2014 and 2015. The men's team finished third in both seasons, while the women's team earned back-to-back NAIA National Runner-Up Awards. Prior to joining the Bees, Pilczuk has worked as a consultant, working with individuals swimmers, club teams, camps, clinics and coaching, including several 2012 Olympic team members. Pilczuk was the National Sprint coach and National Youth coach for Great Britain from 2003 - 2008, and was a coach on several international teams including the World Championships, Junior World Championships, European Championships, European Juniors, Australian Age-Group Championships and the FINA World Cups. From 1992-2003 he swam and coached with Auburn University. Pilczuk graduated magna cum laude from Auburn University in 1994 and received a masters degree in Exercise Physiology in 1998. He was the 1998 World Champion in the 50m freestyle, and gold medalist in the Pan Pacific Games. Pilczuk was a 5-time USA National Champion, 3-time NCAA All-American and was a member of the 4x50m medley relay world record in 1996. Pilczuk is originally from Cape May, NJ, and attended Lower Cape May Regional High School, swimming for the Wildwood Crest Dolphins swim team. Pilczuk helped coach the SCAD Womens Swim Team to a second place finish at the 2013-14 National Swimming and Diving Championships. The SCAD Mens Team placed third in the 2013-14 National Swimming and Diving Championships. For his successes, Pilczuk was the recipient of SCAD's Assistant Coach of the Year honor. Pilczuk resides in Pooler with his wife Davana and their two children.
