Head Coach

Tucker in 2016/17.  There is excitement and anticipation as the Griffins program completed last year with a program high 19 th place National finish under Coach Tucker.  They return many starters including a National Qualifier, a 2 time National Qualifier and NCAA runner up Joey Alessandro.  Coach Tucker will look to continue the Griffins success coming off a Third Place finish in D2 PSAC and back to back winning seasons. In the 4 seasons that Tucker has been Head Coach, he has lead Seven wrestlers to advance in the NCAA Division II National Championships including Joey Alessandros All American status this past year.  And in this past off season, Griffin wrestler Jake Temple became Tuckers first University All American in Greco Roman Style. During the 2014/15 season Tucker lead the Griffins to their first winning dual meet season as well as enjoying their first ever Tournament Championship by winning the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.  They followed that up with another winning season this past year. In the summer of the 2015/16 season Tucker represented Team USA at the Veterans World Championships as the personal coach of 97Kg Gold Medal winner Mark Marshall, the Griffins Volunteer Coach. Tucker has enabled his wrestlers to excel in the classroom as well.  Last season 4 members of the team were named to the All Academic Wrestling Team and in 2013/14 and 2014/15 the Griffins finished third highest GPA in Division II All Academic Wrestling Team Rankings.  Three Griffin wrestlers were named to the NWCA All American Academic Team in 2013/14 and Five in 2014/15.  Plus in his four seasons as Head Coach, three wrestlers have earned Capitol One Academic All District team honors. Prior to joining Seton Hill, Tucker was an assistant wrestling coach at Bloomsburg University where he assisted the Head Coach John Stutzman in all aspects of running a successful Division I wrestling program.  While at Bloomsburg, the Huskies qualified 6 wrestlers to the NCAA Division I National Tournament and in 2011 the Huskies placed third in the EWL Championships.  He was also the assistant wrestling camp director at Bloomsburg.  Tucker was the head coach for the Husky Wrestling Club in Bloomsburg, PA where he had the opportunity to coach heavyweight Justin Grant at the 2012 US Olympic Trials. Coach Tucker was a four-year varsity starter for the Dallastown Area High School Wildcats in York County and wrestled for two years at The Ohio State University before transferring over to the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Health and Physical Activity.  He received his Masters Degree in Exercise Science from Bloomsburg University. He is a graduate of the NWCA Leadership Academy and holds a Bronze Level Coaching Certification through USA Wrestling.  Tucker is also a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and is a Corrective Exercise Specialist.

Vince DeAugustine

Head Coach

Vince DeAugustine will begin his third season as the Griffins head coach during the 2025-26 season.   Over his first two seasons, DeAugustine has won 13 dual matches.  The Griffins have sent three wrestlers to the NCAA Division II National Championships and two wrestlers have won Regional Championships.  In addition, three Griffins have earned All PSAC honors and eight wrestlers were named NWCA Scholar All Americans.   DeAugustine most recently was the head coach at Hempfield High School where he has been the head coach for sixteen of the past eighteen years.  Vince also spent two seasons as the head wrestling coach at Norwin High School from 2019-2020, where he coached the school's only state champion in Kurtis Phipps. During his 18 seasons as head coach, DeAugustine has coached eight PIAA state champions, five PIAA state runners up and 39 PIAA state place winners.  Vince has coached eighteen WPIAL Champions and fourty five section champions.  Fifty five of his wrestlers have qualified for states with 150 WPIAL qualifiers.   As a team, DeAugustine has coached a WPIAL Championship team in 2007 and a PIAA State Runner up in 2021. Vince has coached six Top 8 PIAA State place winners, won two Southwest Regional Championships and five Section Championships while earning 17 out of 18 playoff appearances.   DeAugustine has also spent time as a football and baseball assistant coach.   After wrestling at the University of Buffalo, DeAugustine transferred to Saint Vincent where he played baseball and was the first All American in the 120 year history of the baseball program.   DeAugustine is the owner/president of the Manor Valley Golf Course.  He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Wrestling Hall of Fame and Southwestern Pennsylvania Hall of Fame.

Ryan Walters

Assistant Coach

Walters, a former two-time regional place winner and DII Academic All- American joins Brian Tucker's staff after competing as a former athlete for the Griffins.   As a collegiate wrestler for Seton Hill University and Waynesburg University, Walters participated in ROTC through West Virginia University, while being a member of Pennsylvanias Army National Guard as an Infantry Cadet. Upon graduation from Waynesburg University, Walters commissioned as an Army Officer in the National Guard. Ryan continued his wrestling career as a Red Shirt Senior at Seton Hill University, where he earned the starting spot in the 165-pound weight class; compiling a record of 24-9, placing in the Super Regional Tournament, and becoming an Academic All-American.   His career of success started all the way back in high school, where he was a Two-time WPIAL place-winner, three-time Section finalist, three-time PowerAde place-winner, and a three-time King of the Mountain place-winner.   Ryan graduated in May 2014 from the Waynesburg University with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance accompanied with a minor in Economics. He will continue to pursue a MBA in sports management while at Seton Hill University.
