Skidmore College Women's Basketball

Bostick was named the Skidmore head women's basketball coach in August, 2024. Bostick comes to Saratoga Springs with over a decade of head coaching experience at the Division III level. Most recently, Bostick served for three seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.   “I am very excited about the opportunity to lead this great Thoroughbred basketball program,” Bostick said. “I would like to thank the search committee, and Gail Cummings-Danson, for giving me this opportunity.”   "I am excited to welcome David Bostick to the Skidmore Community as our head women’s basketball coach,” Cummings-Danson said. "David's passion for mentoring and developing students, along with his tremendous work ethic, his love for the game, and commitment to excellence will be an asset to the program, department and college as a whole.”   Before his three years at MCLA, Bostick was the head coach at Fitchburg State University during the 2013-14 season before a seven-year run at Becker College, his alma mater, culminating in a 2018 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship, NCAA Tournament appearance, and two NECC Coach of the Year awards (2016, 2018).   He will now lead a Thoroughbred team that has enjoyed a stretch of unprecedented success. “Skidmore College has a rich tradition of being successful on and off the court and I look forward to working with the talented student-athletes and staff to build on that success.”   The Thoroughbreds are coming off back-to-back 20-win campaigns with a combined 45-11 (.804) record and a 32-4 mark in the Liberty League. Skidmore won the 2023 Liberty League title, advancing to the NCAA Second Round for the first time in program history. The Thoroughbreds made a repeat appearance in the 2024 conference championship game. Showcasing its prowess off the court, the team was also recently ranked ninth in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.   "I look forward to watching the team, under Coach Bostick’s guidance, continue the tradition of success it has established in the classroom and on the court,” Cummings-Danson added.   An accomplished player at Becker, Bostick was a 1,000-point scorer for the Hawks. He then began his coaching career as the women’s basketball assistant at his alma mater, while also coaching the women’s tennis team for five seasons and leading the team to three straight conference titles.   Bostick has degrees in business administration and psychology from Becker. He is also working on a Master of Business Administration from MCLA.   COACHING RECORD BY YEAR OVERALL CONFERENCE YEAR SCHOOL W L W L POSTSEASON / NOTES 2013-14 Fitchburg State 13 12 6 6 MASCAC Tournament 1st Round 1 SEASON FITCHBURG TOTALS 13 12 6 6                                                                                                                      FITCHBURG PERCENT .520 .500 2014-15 Becker College 2 23 2 16 2015-16 Becker College 7 18 6 12 2016-17 Becker College 15 12 13 5 NECC Tournament 2017-18 Becker College 18 11 11 5 NCAA Tournament 1st Round, NECC Championship 2018-19 Becker College 20 8 15 3 NECC Championship game 2019-20 Becker College 12 16 9 5 2020-21 Becker College 0 7 0 0 7 SEASONS BECKER  TOTALS 74 94 56 46 BECKER PERCENT .440 .549 2021-22 MCLA 1 23 1 11 2022-23 MCLA 4 21 1 11 2023-24 MCLA 4 21 1 11 3 SEASONS MCLA TOTALS 9 65 3 33 MCLA PERCENT .122 .083 2024-25 Skidmore 15 12 12 6 Liberty League Semifinal 1 SEASON SKIDMORE TOTALS 15 12 12 6 SKIDMORE PERCENT .556 .667 12 SEASONS TOTALS 111 183 77 91 PERCENT .378 .458 1 Conference Championships 1 NCAA Tournament Appearance
