Erin Street

Head Coach

The 2020 season will mark Erin Streets 11th year overall as an assistant coach for the Slippery Rock University volleyball program.   Street spent a total of eight seasons on head coach Laurie Lokashs staff from 2007-14 before becoming the head coach at Grove City College for four seasons. Street re-joined The Rock as an assistant coach prior to the 2018 season.   In her first season back at Slippery Rock in 2018 Street helped lead SRU to 11 wins and an 8-10 mark inside the PSAC Northwest Division. The eight conference victories represented the second highest league-win total by SRU dating back to the 2012 campaign. She helped coach the middle hitter duo of Shayla Ray and Erinn Kahoe to all-conference honors. Injuries to several key starters and reserves plagued The Rock in 2019 as SRU finished the season with a 7-23 record.     While at Grove City, Street lead the Wolverines to 49 wins. The 49 victories represented the second most wins over a four-year stretch dating back to 2007. Streets 2015 Grove City team won 11 Presidents Athletic Conference matches, the most by a Grove City team since 1987.   Under her guidance, 14 Grove City athletes earned All-PAC honors. Street also led GCC to three PAC Team Sportsmanship awards. Grove City has also excelled off the court under Street, earning three American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Awards.   In addition to her volleyball duties, Street also served as an assistant track and field coach as well as an assistant professor of exercise science at Grove City.   "Erins players were very successful at Grove City on and off the court, Lokash said. Her coaching philosophy fits well with our system of preparing student-athletes for success on the court, in the classroom and in life. I know Erin will continue to be a great coach and also a great role model for our players.   During her first tenure at SRU, Street spent a total of eight seasons on Lokashs coaching staff prior to accepting the head coach position at Grove City. Street first came to Slippery Rock as a graduate assistant before being elevated to the lead assistant coach for the program from 2009-13. She played an instrumental role in helping lead SRU to four NCAA Tournament appearances in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011.   As a player, Street attended Wheeling Jesuit University, where she was a standout on the volleyball court for the Cardinals from 2002-05. She finished her career ranking second in service aces per game (.48), third in assists per game (8.74), fourth in total assists (1,285) and ninth in double-doubles. As a senior, Street was named co-captain of the Lady Cardinals.   A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Street earned a bachelors degree in psychology at Wheeling Jesuit in 2006. She completed her master of arts in community counseling at Slippery Rock in 2009.
