Both teams advanced to The Sun Conference Tournament Semifinals, marking the first time since 2016 both the men's and women's tennis teams qualified to that point. "Drew stepped into a very difficult situation in the fall and has thrived, leading a program that didn't have a lot of success the last few years into the postseason," said SEU Athletic Director Drew Watson. "His energy, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for the game of tennis played a big part in that turnaround and are the reasons I believe he is a perfect fit to lead the tennis programs into the future." Prior to being named Interim Head Coach, Dickens served as a Graduate Assistant Coach for both programs throughout the 2017 season. He was also a four-year standout for the SEU men's program, where he was three-time Academic All-Sun Conference and a two-time TSC Champion of Character.
