Dawkins is responsible for all aspects associated with the Southern Polytechnic women's basketball program, and has posted a 83-43 overall record (.659) over the past four years, including 49-25 (.662) in the Southern States Athletic Conference. This past season, Dawkins' squad went 23-8 overall, including 16-4 in conference games for the outright SSAC Eastern Division title and an automatic berth to the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship. It marked Southern Poly's fourth appearance at the NAIA Division I national tournament in the last five years. In 2012-13, Dawkins guided her Hornets to a 25-6 overall record, a 15-4 mark in SSAC play and a final national ranking of 25th in NAIA Division I. SPSU received an automatic bid to the NAIA Division I national event after a runner-up finish at the SSAC Tournament. During the 2011-12 campaign, Southern Poly slumped to 6-24 overall, including 4-15 within the conference. In her first season as a collegiate head coach in 2010-11, Dawkins led the Hornets to a 29-5 overall record, their second straight trip to the NAIA Division I nationals and a final ranking of No. 17 in the country. SPSU won its second straight SSAC Tournament title and the SSAC Eastern Division crown. On Dec. 12, 2010, Dawkins coached Southern Poly to its first-ever win over an NCAA Division I team, a 53-16 exhibition victory at Winthrop University. Dawkins is in her 14th year of coaching womens basketball at the collegiate level. Before coming to SPSU, she spent 11 seasons as a NCAA Division I assistant coach. She also has classroom experience at the university level and is committed to developing young women both athletically and academically. Prior to joining the Hornets, Dawkins was the recruiting coordinator at Winthrop for four campaigns from 2006-10. Her admirable recruiting skills and on-court coaching duties helped the Eagles achieve one of their best seasons in school history, which featured an appearance in the 2009 Womens National Invitation Tournament. In 2009-10, Winthrop finished sixth nationally in field goal percentage and 25th in scoring defense. During her time with the Eagles, they posted back-to-back winning seasons in the Big South Conference for the first time in the history of the program. In 2007-08, Winthrop ended third in the country in defensive field goal percentage, had its best start in school history as a NCAA Division I program and established a school record for wins (20) in a season at any level. Also when Dawkins was with the Eagles, they finished above .500 in conference play for the first time and appeared in three straight semifinal games of the conference tournament. From 2003-06, Dawkins was the recruiting coordinator at Florida International University. In her three seasons there, Florida International compiled 48 wins and the 2005-06 team, behind the firepower of first team all-conference selection Lasma Jekabsone, advanced to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and made a fifth appearance in the WNIT. The Golden Panthers hosted their second postseason game in 2006, a preliminary-round, overtime victory over the Big East Conferences University of Cincinnati before falling at crosstown rival the University of Miami in the following round. Prior to taking the position at FIU, Dawkins first four years out of college were spent on the coaching staffs at Gardner-Webb University and the University of Iowa, where she helped lead the Hawkeyes to the Big Ten Conference Tournament title in 2001. A standout performer at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Dawkins helped lead the Tar Heels to three Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament crowns in 1995, 1997 and 1998 and the AAC regular-season championship in 1997. While at North Carolina, Dawkins was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll and received the teams Coaches Award. Dawkins earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education from UNC in 1999 and later received a Master of Science in physical education at Florida International in 2006. She is also a 2008 graduate of the NCAA Black Coaches & Administrators Achieving Coaching Excellence (ACE) Program. Dawkins is an active member of the BCA and the Womens Basketball Coaches Association. Originally from of Shelby, N.C., Dawkins has had her high school jersey retired by Crest Senior High School. Stephon Seraile completed his third season in 2013-14 as the top assistant coach for the Southern Polytechnic State University womens basketball team. He serves as the programs recruiting coordinator. In addition to his recruiting responsibilities, Seraile assists with academics, team travel, strength and conditioning, player development, scouting, video exchange and on-floor coaching. Seraile helped lead Southern Poly to a 23-8 overall record this past season and a 25-6 mark in 2012-13 with an automatic bid to the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship each year. During that time, the Hornets went 31-8 in Southern States Athletic Conference play with an outright SSAC Eastern Division title in 2014 and a runner-up finish at the SSAC Tournament in 2013. SPSU was ranked No. 25 nationally in the final NAIA Division I coaches' poll of 2012-13. Before coming to Southern Poly, Seraile was an assistant boys coach for five years at Wootton High School in Rockville, Md. Seraile was an integral part of the program at Wootton, helping the school claim the 4A West Division championship for the first time in 23 years. He served as an associate head varsity coach and as the head junior varsity coach there. Prior to his stint at Wootton, Seraile was the head coach for the Maryland Flames and the Montgomery County (Md.) Select AAU squad. Seraile earned his bachelors degree in psychology from nearby Morehouse College in 2001. He graduated from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Md. A native of Washington, D. C., Seraile is an active member of the Black Coaches & Administrators. Theo Willmon finished his third season as an assistant womens basketball coach at Southern Polytechnic State University in 2013-14. Willmon's responsibilities include game preparation, scouting and film breakdown, recruiting, player development, and strength and conditioning. This past season, Willmon helped guide Southern Polytechnic to a 23-8 overall record, including a 16-4 mark for the outright Southern States Athletic Conference Eastern Division title. Southern Poly made its second consecutive trip to the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship in 2014. In 2012-13, the Hornets went 25-6 overall (including 15-4 in the SSAC), were the SSAC Tournament runners-up and finished with a final national ranking of No. 25 in NAIA Division I. Prior to joining the coaching staff at SPSU, Willmon spent 10 years as an assistant varsity boys coach at Salem High School in Conyers, Ga. A Melbourne, Fla., native, Willmon attended Eau Gallie High School. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. Josh Martin took over as head athletic trainer in March 2012 after joining the Southern Polytechnic State University Sports Medicine staff in the summer of 2011. He received the Southern States Athletic Conference Athletic Trainer-of-the-Year Award for his accomplishments in his first year after taking over full responsibility of the program during the second semester of the 2011-12 academic year. Martin earned his undergraduate degree in athletic training from the State University of New York College at Cortland in 2008. While at SUNY Cortland, he worked with the men's lacrosse and wrestling teams in 2006-07, and with women's soccer in the fall of 2008. Also while at Cortland, Martin worked a season with the Cornell University men's lacrosse team during the spring of 2008. After graduating from Cortland in 2008, Martin went on to Gardner-Webb University as a graduate assistant where he received his master's degree in sports science and pedagogy. While at Gardner-Webb, he worked with the softball and cheerleading teams from 2009-11. He also assisted in covering preseason football camp, and helped at home and away football contests at GWU. A native of Sackets Harbor, N.Y., Martin now resides in Atlanta, Ga.
