Zauzig returns to Southern Vermont in 2016 for his sixth year at the helm of the Mountaineers' women's soccer program. In each of his previous campaigns at SVC, he has led the Mountaineers to the New England Collegiate Conference playoffs. In 2015, he led the team to a 6-2-1 mark in NECC action to collect the program's first home playoff match since becoming NCAA accredited. That Mountaineer team won its first round game to make it back to the Conference semis for the second straight year. Zauzig coached the NECC Rookie of the Year (Molly Madore) for the second straight season while also seeing two additional Mountaineers make it to the All-NECC First Team, one player being selected to the Second Team, and a fifth making the All-NECC Third Team. Additionally in 2015, Coach Zauzig's '14 squad earned the program's fourth NSCAA Team Academic Award for having a GPA over 3.0. Also, the Mountaineers received the NSCAA Silver Ethics Award for being given only a limited amount of cautions throughout the season. In 2014, Zauzigs crew grabbed his first postseason victory as a head coach, making it to the Conference semifinals for the first time since 1999. That team included the NECC Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Year (Melissa Mascari) and two members of each the All-NECC First and Second Teams. In 2012, Zauzig led the team to the most wins in program history (11) and made his way back into the New England Collegiate Conference postseason for the second-straight year. He followed up with a third trip to the NECC postseason in 2013. The Mountaineers also received their second-consecutive National Soccer Coaches Association of Americas (NSCAA) Team Ethics Award in 2012, earning the Silver Award for not being issued a single red card and less than five yellow cards throughout the season. Zauzigs '11 crew earned the NSCAA Gold Ethics Award, a recognition given to only thirteen teams across the nation in 2011 for not receiving one yellow or red card throughout the season. Prior to taking over the womens program, Zauzig was an assistant and goalkeeper coach at his alma mater, Juniata College, from 2008-11. In that time, he helped the Eagles reach the Landmark Conference tournament in 2008 and 2010. Zauzig also has experience at the high school level, assisting the Huntingdon Area High School (Pa.) to three District 5/6 championship games between 2004 and 2007. He is currently with the Saratoga Wilton Soccer Club (SWSC) located in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., working with the U17 & U18 teams since the spring of 2013 as the assistant coach and trainer for both teams. Zauzig has been a camp instructor at Penn State Universitys summer girls individual overnight and team camps (2009-16) as well as the Juniata Youth soccer camp (2008-16). Coach Zauzig became a member of the NSCAA in 2009. He has received his Level I State Goalkeeping and Level II Regional Goalkeeping diplomas. Zauzig graduated from Juniata in 2008 with his Bachelor of Science in Education, and then he returned for a PA Instructional I Certification in Elementary Education which he completed in 2010.
