Jack Edmonson
Head Coach
Jack Edmonson is in his fifth year as the Bears' Head Baseball Coach. Edmonson brings to SMCC a wealth of experience having spent several years in the Mississippi Community College system. A native of Louisville, MS, Edmonson is a 2009 graduate of East Central Community College. A member of the Warriors baseball team, he was named the Most Improved Player in 2008 and received the team’s Warrior Award in 2009. Edmonson next attended Mississippi Valley State University where he was the Delta Devils’ starting first baseman for two seasons and a member of the school’s golf team. He graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. He began his coaching career at Mississippi Delta Community College where he spent four seasons over two stints. His other coaching stops include East Central Community College, Holmes Community College and, most recently, Co-Lin. Edmonson received a Master’s degree of Teaching in Sports Management and Human Performance from Delta State University in 2015. He is married to the former Kimmie Kolpek. They are the parents of two sons, Will Reeves and Maddux.

Brady Spring
Assistant Coach
Brady Spring is in his second year as Volunteer Assistant Coach with the Bears. This is the first coaching job for Spring. The Brookhaven-native comes to Summit following graduation from Freed-Hardenman University in Tennessee where he enjoyed a two-year run as a player for the Lions. He graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor's Degree in History. He is no stranger to the MACCC as Spring spent one season each at Jones and Co-Lin as a member of both schools' baseball teams. Spring prepped at Brookhaven Academy where he was a four-year letterman and a member of two state champion teams for the Cougars in 2018 and 2019.

Bryce Melton
Assistant Coach
Bryce Melton is in his first season as the Pitching Coach for the Bears. He comes to Summit after spending two seasons as a Graduate Assistant Pitching Coach with the Wisconsin Lutheran College baseball program. During his time at Wisconsin Lutheran, he earned his master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management. A native of Bettendorf, Iowa, Melton was a four-year baseball letterman at Bettendorf High School and pitched one season for Kishwaukee Community College, a Division I junior college in Malta, Illinois. Before attending Wisconsin Lutheran, Melton served as an On-Field Manager for the Iowa Hawkeyes baseball program, working closely with the pitching staff while earning his bachelor’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management. Melton has four years of experience as a high school assistant coach and most recently served as the Pitching Coach for the Grand Lake Mariners in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.
