Mike Cerasuolo
Head Coach
Mike Cerasuolo ’93 will enter his tenth season as the head coach of the Springfield College football program during the 2025-26 academic year. Cerasuolo was named the 14th head football coach in the program’s history in January of 2016, and became just the fifth head football coach at Springfield College in the last 70 years. In 2024 Cerasuolo led Springfield to its fourth-straight NEWMAC title with the Pride producing a nation-best 427.5 rushing yards per game propelling them into the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament Quarterfinal. Cerasuolo was named the inaugural Associated Press Division III National Coach of the Year. The 2023 campaign saw Springfield produce a nation-best 380 rushing yards per game en route to its third-straight NEWMAC title, as Cerasuolo and his staff were named NEWMAC Coaching Staff of the Year. In his second season at the helm, Cerasuolo put together a historic 2019 campaign, as Springfield rattled off a 10-0 regular-season record en route to claiming the inaugural NEWMAC Championship. The NEWMAC and The Gridiron Club of Greater Boston Division II/III New England Coach of the Year, Cerasuolo guided a Springfield team that led all of college football in rushing with just over 435 yards per game. Cerasuolo is no stranger to the Springfield College football program, as prior to becoming the head coach, he spent 15 years as the offensive coordinator for the Pride. With Cerasuolo devising the game plans, the Pride has established itself as one of the premier rushing offenses in Division III football, as Springfield College had won five national rushing titles with him as the offensive coordinator. A sought-after clinician, Cerasuolo has also done great work off the field for the football program, as under his leadership, the Pride has become heavily involved with Team IMPACT and has had three members of the football program be marrow donors through the Be The Match program. A native of Northboro, Mass., Cerasuolo was the offensive coordinator at Division II Mansfield during the 2000 season. Prior to Mansfield, Cerasuolo held offensive coordinator positions at Mansfield, Alfred, Lebanon Valley, and SUNY Cortland, and was the offensive line and tight ends coach at the University of Maine, while also coaching the defensive line at Ithaca. A standout student-athlete for Springfield College from 1989-1993, Cerasuolo was named Springfield College’s most valuable offensive player during his senior year, as the center was a two-time Division II All-New England selection, and a 1992 Associated Press and New England College Football Writers’ Association All-Star. After earning his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Springfield College, Cerasuolo went on to receive his master’s degree in sport pedagogy from Ithaca in 1995. Mike and his wife, Tracy, reside in Hampden, Mass. with their two daughters. Coaching Highlights Led Springfield to a 10-0 regular-season record in 2017 and their first trip to the NCAA Division III Championship since 2006 Named the 2017 NEWMAC Coach of the Year and the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston Division II/III New England Coach of the Year Has led the Pride to eight national rushing titles, including most recently in 2023. Has had 15 student-athletes become All-Americans, including Chris Sharpe ’07, who won the Melberger Award, given to the top Division III Football Player in the country, and Jordan Wilcox '18, who was the program's first-ever Gagliardi National Player of the Year Trophy Finalist. Had three-student-athletes earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in 2017, the most of any program in the nation Michael Cerasuolo ’93 enters his 13th season as offensive coordinator. With Cerasuolo devising the game plans, the Pride has been an offensive machine in recent years. Under his direction, the Pride has won five national rushing titles, including most recently in 2011. In the last 83 games, Cerasuolo’s unit has eclipsed the 40-point mark 32 times, the 50-point plateau 14 times and the 60 point mark on eight occasions. Four of his offensive linemen, Andrew MacFadyen ’02, Brian Dewey ‘05, Adam Feit ’07, and Sean Meagher '11 have earned All-America honors. A 1993 Springfield graduate and a native of Northboro, Mass., Cerasuolo was the offensive coordinator at Division II Mansfield (Pa.) during the 2000 season. He was also in charge of the offensive line, quarterbacks, tight ends, short snappers, holders, and kick returners. Prior to Mansfield, Cerasuolo held offensive coordinator positions at Alfred (N.Y.), Lebanon Valley (Pa.), and SUNY Cortland. A native of Bethlehem, Pa., Reph is working on his Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership. Reph spent three seasons as a football player at Hamilton College, and spent his senior year as a student assistant. After earning a degree in economics from Hamilton, Reph joined the Springfield College football program as a graduate assistant for the 2024-2025 season.

Recruiting Area: 203 Section of Connecticut, New York Section 9 Secondary Recruiting Area: MD, DC, VA, TN, OH, MI, IL Kyle Woodring joins the Springfield College football program as a graduate assistant for the 2024-25 campaign. A native of Norwalk, Conn., Woodring is working on his Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership. As a student-athlete at Trinity College, Woodring was a standout offensive lineman for the Bantams, as he was named to the All-NESCAC First-Team in 2021 and 2022, and during his senior season was named to the All-Region First Team and was a Division III All-American. After earning a degree in Urban Studies from Trinity, Woodring spent the fall 2023 season as an offensive line coach at Sacred Heart University.

Alfred Boni

Recruiting Area: Hudson, Union, Bergen, Essex, Passaic Counties NJ Secondary Area: CO, TX, IN, OK, NE Alfred Boni is a graduate student at Springfield College pursuing a Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership. A native of Ridgeland, South Carolina, played collegiate football at Newberry College and earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Georgia Southern University. Before joining Springfield, Boni spent six years coaching at the high school level. He was on staff at Thomas Heyward Academy in Ridgeland, South Carolina, one of the most successful SCISA programs in the state. During his tenure, the program secured multiple region championships and was part of a dominant era that included SCISA Class A state titles, including a four-peat from 2018–2021 and another championship in 2024. He later coached at New Hampstead High School in Savannah, Georgia, where he continued to develop athletes and contribute to program growth.

A native of Hazlet, New Jersey, Lind is working on his Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership. As a student-athlete at Springfield College, Lind played offensive line and was part of the program’s NEWMAC Championship teams from 2021 to 2024. He earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2024, was named to the D3football.com All-Region I Second Team in 2024, and was also selected to the All-ECAC Team in 2025.

Bill Moore

Recruiting Area: (assists with on campus/ in season recruiting, please contact the recruiting coach for your area) Coach Bill Moore has served as a part-time assistant on the Springfield College staff on multiple occasions over the last four decades. While working with the offensive line since 2023, Coach Moore has helped several players achieve all conference, all region and All American honors, while helping the unit to multiple national rushing yardage titles and NCAA playoff appearances. As Inside Linebackers Coach during the 2014-2018 seasons, and again in 2022, Moore coached all conference players in 2017, 2018, 2022. As Offensive Line Coach from 1998-2000 Moore coached two Division III All-Americans (John Cena and Matt Sallila) and multiple conference and regional award winners. During that time, Springfield made their first NCAA Division III playoffs in school history (1998), and became the first team from New England to reach the NCAA Quarterfinals (2000) as the offense set an NCAA all-time, all-divisions, rushing yardage record. Moore worked with the offensive and defensive lines as a graduate assistant from 1994-1995. Coach Moore served as the head coach of Westfield High School (MA) for a dozen years. In that time the team rose from the bottom of the state and regional rankings to earning two Western Mass Division 1AA titles and post-season appearances in 2007, 2008, and 2013. In that final 2013 season, his team earned both district and state level Sportsmanship Awards. As a player, Moore was a four-year starter at center and guard at the University of New Hampshire, and was a member of the 1991 Yankee Conference Championship team. He has been an assistant coach at Agawam High School, Maine Central Institute, and Princeton University. In 2001, he served as offensive coordinator at Western New England University, leading his unit to single game rushing, total offense, and scoring records while he also coached one All-American. Moore has been a high school Social Studies teacher for 30 years. He was listed as a member of the Springfield College Faculty as an Associate Practitioner from 2003-2009. In 2013, Coach Moore wrote and published a book, On Character and Mental Toughness and presented The Character Way program to athletic departments and coaching organizations across the northeast.

A native of Orlando, Fla., Lewin is working on his Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership. As a student-athlete at Springfield College, Lewin played linebacker and was part of the program’s NEWMAC Championship teams from 2021 to 2024. He earned All-Conference and All-Region honors in 2021 and 2023 and participated in several NCAA leadership development programs, including the NCAA Career in Sports Forum and the Division III Student Immersion Program.

A native of Clifton Park, New York, DiRenzo earned his Bachelor of Science in Movement and Sports Studies with a minor in Athletic Coaching from Springfield College, graduating with honors. He is currently the Outside Linebackers Coach for Springfield College Football, recruiting across the North Shore of Massachusetts, Northern New England, and the Orlando/Tampa area of Florida. Before his current role, DiRenzo served as the Fullbacks Coach at Springfield, contributing to a dominant run that included a fourth straight NEWMAC Championship and an NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 2024. Prior to his return last season he has also coached at the University at Albany as an Assistant Offensive Line Coach during their 2023 CAA Championship and FCS Final Four season.

Sam Nelson

A native of Latham, N.Y., Nelson is working on his Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership. As a student-athlete at Springfield College, Nelson was a part of the 2021 NEWMAC championship football team. After earning a degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics Computer Technology Education from Springfield, Nelson joined the National Arena League Albany Empire as an offensive assistant coach, later coaching at Bridgeton Academy as an offensive line coach and Union College as a tight end and running backs coach.

Owen Straley

Owen Straley joined the Columbia staff in March 2025 as an defensive quality control assistant. In this role, he is responsible for all defensive film responsibilities, which include breaking down opposing offenses, creating the ?self-scout? of Columbia?s defensive tendencies and daily data entry. He also assists with the weekly game plan. He joined the program after two seasons as a graduate assistant and outside linebackers coach at Springfield College. While there, he helped the Pride win a pair of conference titles, an NCAA Division III quarterfinal appearance in 2024 and coached a pair of All-NEWMAC outside linebackers. Straley is a 2022 graduate of Bates College, where he was a three-year starter at cornerback. He received a bachelor?s degree in Politics and is slated to receive a master?s in education from Springfield in May 2025.

Nic Keene

Nic Keene G'18 begins his third year as an assistant football coach and assistant professor of physical education at Springfield College in the 2025-26 academic year. During the 2024 season, Keene helped Springfield to its fourth-straight NEWMAC title and assisted in its run in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, where the team made it all the way to the quarterfinals to cap off a historic season. In his first season with the Pride in 2023, Keene was a member of the NEWMAC Coaching Staff of the Year as he helped Springfield win its third-straight conference title. Keene returns to Alden Street after most recently serving as the special teams coordinator, secondary coach, and recruiting coordinator at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. Keene graduated from Plymouth State in 2012 and received his Masters from Springfield College in 2018. While a graduate assistant coach at Springfield, Keene helped the Pride win the inaugural New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship following an undefeated regular season. Prior to his time at St. Olaf, Keene had two coaching stints in Georgia, at both New Hampstead High School and Savannah Country Day School, where he also had roles as a teacher and in admissions. Following his time at Springfield College, Keene worked at Yale University where he was a defensive quality control coach. A native of Auburn, Maine, Keene has previously spent time on the Bates College football coaching staff, was a teacher and coach at Edward Little High School, and was a teacher at JLee Preparatory Academy in South Korea.

Recruiting Area: South Shore, Eastern MA Cape Storm Jipson G '25 begins his first year as a full-time assistant football coach at Springfield College in the 2025–26 academic year, serving as the Co-Special Teams Coordinator and Halfbacks Coach. Jipson returns to Alden Street after completing his Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership at Springfield College. During his graduate assistantship, he coached the halfbacks, fullbacks, and special teams units, contributing to the Pride's historic 2024 season. Under his guidance, Springfield achieved a 12–1 record, secured a fourth consecutive NEWMAC Championship, and reached the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time in 25 seasons, setting a Division III record for rushing yards with 5,557. Over two seasons, the Pride posted a 21–3 overall record and a perfect 14–0 in conference play. A native of Auburn, Maine, Jipson earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Maine. Jipson was a student assistant during his time there, where he gained experience working with the team during the 2021 season. He also attended the Option Summit 2025 to further develop his knowledge of option offense and special teams.

Will Nipon

Recruiting Area: Suffolk/ Nassau County Long Island Will Nipon G ’25 begins his first year as a full-time assistant football coach at Springfield College in the 2025–26 academic year, where he works with the defensive backs. Nipon transitions into a full-time role with the Pride after previously serving as a graduate assistant coach while pursuing his Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership. During his time as a graduate assistant, Nipon contributed to Springfield’s continued success in the NEWMAC, helping the program capture conference championships and develop one of the top defenses in the league. A native of New York, N.Y., Nipon studied sociology at Colby College, where he played football and served as a two-time team captain and standout defensive back. In 2025, he was selected to coach in the prestigious All-State Game, highlighting his growing reputation in the coaching community and his dedication to player development both on and off the field.
