Mike Miller
Head Coach
Mike Miller '08 G'12 will enter his tenth year as the head coach of the men's and women's track and field programs at Springfield College during the 2025-26 academic year. In the nine seasons that Miller has been the head track and field coach at Springfield College, 19 student-athletes have earned 22 All-America honors, including two-time All-Americans Courtney Luscier, Jack Pinho, and Caroline Hitchcock. During the 2018-19 season, the Pride had a total of 10 student-athletes qualify to compete in the NCAA Division III Championship meets. Since 2015, Miller was an assistant coach at Central Connecticut State University, where he focused on the pole vault and throwing events, which resulted in school records in both the men's pole vault and women's weight throw along with contributing to a Northeast Conference Championship for outdoor track. Miller previously spent three years as an assistant coach at Amherst College, where he was charged with working with the sprinters, hurdlers, jumper and throwing events. As a member of the coaching staff, Miller helped Amherst capture the 2015 ECAC Indoor Championships as well as own the third-best team grade point average in the all of Division III track & field. Miller spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Springfield College from 2010-12 and benefited from the guidance of longtime Springfield College head coach, Ken Klatka. While on staff, Miller aided in the planning of both the Division III New England Indoor Championships and the ECAC Outdoor Championships, while coaching a national qualifier for Springfield in the javelin. A 2008 graduate of Springfield College, Miller earned a degree in Business Management, and later completed his Master's degree in Advanced Level Coaching in 2012. During his time as a student-athlete at Springfield, Miller was a standout on the track & field team, qualifying for NCAA Championships as a decathlete in 2005, 2007, and 2008. He was also a two-time New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) champion in the high jump and won the ECAC Division III Championship in the decathlon twice.

Max Coleman
Assistant Coach
Coleman will enter his second season as a graduate assistant coach with the Springfield College men's track and field program during the 2015-16 academic year. A native of Trumbull, Conn., Coleman will be working to obtain his Master's degree in Advanced Level Coaching. A four-year student-athlete for the High Point University men's track and field program, Coleman used his knowledge as high jumper and long jumper to help coach sophomore Alex Niemiec to a second-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where Niemiec had the second-best jump in program history at 24 feet, 5 inches.

Bill Ferguson
Assistant Coach
Ferguson will enter his second season as a graduate assistant coach of the men's track and field team at Springfield College during the 2015-2016 academic year. A native of Jefferson Township, N.J., Ferguson obtained his Bachelor's degree in Movement and Sports Studies from Springfield College in the spring of 2014. While working to obtain his Master's degree in Athletic Administration, Ferguson will be coaching high jumpers, hurlder and multi-event student-athletes, while also constructing practice plans and assisting with recruiting.

Ken Klatka
Assistant Coach
Klatkas teams are among the best in the region. Last season, he coached a pair of student-athletes to All-America honors, as earned All-America honors in the 35-pound weight throw after a third-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, before the graduate student placed fourth in the hammer throw at the Outdoor Championships in May. Additionally, sophomore posted the second-best long jump in the history of the college, when he posted a distance of 24 feet, 5 inches, to finish as the national runner-up in the event. The feats were the cap to an incredible season for the Pride, which also saw four student-athletes win NEWMAC titles in the outdoor season. In 2014, the Pride collected three All-New England honors and three individual NEWMAC title. First-year won two conference titles and was named the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year. During the 2011-2012 indoor season, Klatka's squad finished sixth in the ECAC Division III Indoor Championships. The Pride had a solid outdoor campaign as Springfield placed third in the NEWMAC's, sixth in the New England Division III's, and 16th in the ECAC Division III's. Under Klatka's direction, vaulted to the National Championship in the indoor long jump. Coyle also earned All-American Honors in both the outdoor triple jump and outdoor long jump. He was named the USTFCCCA Division III National Field Athlete of the Year for his accomplishments. Klatka is part of a long line of Pride coaches who have shared their expertise internationally. In 1978 and 82, he traveled to Aruba and spent a month conducting clinics and lecturing student-athletes. He has conducted numerous clinics in the Northeast, including several at Springfield College. Klatka has been the meet director for countless Western Massachusetts high school track and field and cross country championships, and has served as the state director of the U.S. Track and Field Federation. He was the field coordinator for the 1990 Massachusetts Special Olympics and has been the track coordinator for the Massachusetts Senior Games, held annually at Springfield College. Klatka, a 1969 Springfield College graduate, was captain of the cross country team, where he set a number of school and course records. He earned his masters degree from Springfield College in 1970. After graduation, he coached the Colleges mens cross country team for seven seasons. Klatka was a standout runner at Memorial High in Manchester, N.H., establishing state records in the mile and two-mile runs while winning four state titles. In 1994, he was among the charter members enshrined in that schools Athletic Hall of Fame. Anna Steinman
Coach
Anna Steinman will enter her tenth season as the head men's and women's cross country coach and assistant track & field coach at Springfield College during the 2025-26 academic year. Steinman is also an associate professor in Springfield College's Physical Education and Health Education department. During the 2024 season, Steinman led the women's cross country team to their highest finish at the NEWMAC Championships since 2011. She also helped senior Joe Wong qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 800-meter run for his first appearance on the national stage. The Springfield College cross country programs had an impressive 2019 season, as Jack Pinho earned All-Conference honors and was an indoor national qualifier in the mile, while both the men's and women's teams were outstanding in the classroom. In 2019, the mens' cross country program posted a grade-point average of 3.34, which was improved from its 3.25 a season prior, and ranked the Pride 13th in New England and third in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). The women posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.77, improving upon their 3.70 from a season prior. Out of the 215 women's teams recognized, the Pride ranked seventh in the nation, second in the NEWMAC, and second in New England, only trailing WPI, which had a 3.78. The 2017-18 academic year was a breakout season for Steinman, as she coached Pinho to an All-Region and NEWMAC All-Conference honor during the cross country season and a pair of All-America performance during the track and field season. Steinman also helped junior Kristen Madeia to qualify for the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championships in the 800-meter run. Steinman got her coaching start at her alma mater, Salisbury University, and she spent two seasons as the graduate assistant. She worked with the cross country and track and field programs and focused on the distance and middle distance runners. As a member of the coaching staff, she helped the men's program to a fourth-place finished at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, two men's indoor and outdoor Capital Athletic Conference Championships in 2014 and 2015, and a men's cross country conference title in 2014. A 2013 Salisbury graduate, Steinman earned a degree in Physical Education, and completed her graduate studies in 2015 when she earned a degree in Applied Health Physiology. As an undergraduate at Salisbury, Steinman was a four-year member of the cross country and track & field teams, served as captain of both teams, and twice earned All-Capital Athletic Conference honors.
