St. Augustine's College Men's Basketball

Carrington joined the Saint Augustine's University mens basketball staff as an assistant coach beginning with the 2014-15 season. He has 12 years of coaching experience. For the past six years, Carrington served as mens varsity basketball coach at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, N.C., where he also started his career as mens junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach. A highlight of his coaching career at Cardinal Gibbons was the 2010-2011 season when his team won the conference championship, and he was honored as Carolina 6 Conference Coach of the Year. Carringtons strong support of academics was reflected in his 2013-2014 team, which won the N.C. High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) Scholar-Athlete Team Award for the highest team grade point average in the state of North Carolina. During his tenure as head coach, Carringtons teams averaged 13 players per season on the Academic All-Conference Team. A Cary, N.C., native, Carrington graduated from North Carolina A&T State University in 2002, where he majored in physical education with a minor in sociology. He finished his four-year career on the A&T basketball team ranked among the top ten all-time in steals and assists.
