Joe Favia
Head Coach
Favia was named the head coach of the Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling program in June of 2014. Favia was a four-year letter winner and a three-year captain for Stevens from 2009-13. In just two seasons at the helm of the program, Favia has turned the Ducks into one of the premier programs in the country. Both campaigns have resulted in Centennial Conference Championships, while the Ducks captured their first ever NCAA East Region Championship in 2016. Also in 2016, Stevens set the program record for total wins and consecutive wins. Favias second season was especially dominant for Stevens as the 51.5 point margin in the conference championship was the most ever, while the 121 total points also set a conference record. The team continued that trend into the regional where the 39-point margin and 137 total points also set regional records. Under Favias leadership, Stevens has captured 10 individual weight class titles in the Centennial Conference, nine have qualified for the NCAA national tournament, and three have earned NCAA All-American status. Individually, Favia has been named conference coach of the year in each of his first two seasons, while 2016 saw him earn his first east regional coach of the year nod. As a grappler for the Ducks, Favia twice finished fifth nationally at 165-lbs. at the NCAA Division III Championships in 2012 and 2013 to earn All-America status. In 2012, Favia claimed the Centennial Conference title and was named most outstanding wrestler of the tournament, and in 2013, the Brick, N.J. native took top honors at the NCAA Eastern Regional. For his outstanding senior season, Favia was named Stevens' best male athlete. Favia began his coaching career as an assistant at Stevens, in addition to stints as the assistant club coach at Rutgers University. Favia also helped out at the University of Iowa from 2010-12 at training camps. Anthony Bonaventura
Head Coach
Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics and Recreation Russell Rogers announced the promotion of Anthony Bonaventura to the ninth head coach in program history. Bonaventura has been at Stevens since 2015 in both an assistant and associate head coach capacity. Bonaventura joined the wrestling program in 2015 after one season as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Waynesburg University. He has been an integral part of the Ducks’ successes, helping to coach 24 regional and 44 conference champions since joining the fold. In his first season as head coach in 2024-25, the Ducks claimed their fifth straight Regional Championship as Luke Hoerle, Ryan Smith, and Chris Stathopoulos won individual titles. Those three, along with Harrison Hinojosa, Joel Martinovsky, and Blaise Wagner qualified for the NCAA Championships, with Stevens placing 18th overal and Smith and Hoerle earning All-American status. As a program, Stevens Wrestling has reached significant milestones since Bonaventura first arrived in Hoboken, capturing conference championships in each of his seasons on the sidelines. Stevens earned its first team trophy at the Division III Championships in 2018 with a fourth-place finish and in addition to becoming the program’s first national champion, Kaliner was also the Ducks’ first national finalist. Additionally, with the Ducks’ incredibly success at the regional level, Bonaventura was named Regional Assistant Coach of the Year on three different occasions. Bonaventura graduated from Waynesburg with his bachelor’s degree in 2014 and went on to earn his master’s one year later. He was a two-time NCAA national qualifier in addition to being named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference's Most Outstanding Wrestler in 2013. As a senior, the Commack, New York native was an NCAA national finalist and earned All-America recognition. His second-place finish as a senior marked the highest finish at nationals for a Yellow Jacket to that point. No stranger to success in the classroom as well, Bonaventura was selected as Waynesburg's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2014. He also hosts a highly successful Division III wrestling podcast, D3 Nation, with his brother Gennaro, while also spearheading the Duck Insider podcast about all things Stevens Wrestling.

Scott DelVecchio
Assistant Coach
Scott DelVecchio was named an assistant wrestling coach at Stevens in July of 2018 after a stellar career as a student-athlete at Rutgers University. DelVecchio, a South Plainfield, New Jersey native finished tied for 23rd in program history at Rutgers with 88 wins and qualified for three NCAA Championships. He was named an All-American in 2018 for his efforts on the mat DelVecchio, who was a two-time Big Ten championship place-winner at 133 pounds, became just the fourth Scarlet Knight since 1979 to enter the national championship unseeded and earn All-American status, with a come-from-behind win over Drexel's seventh-seeded Anthony DeSanto. He will be charged with working with Stevens' lightweight wrestlers, assisting with technique and match preparation, calling upon his wealth of high-level experierce to enhance an an already dominant area of the program.
