Stevenson University Men's Track

Berdan comes to Stevenson from Garrison Forest School where he had served as the head varsity coach since 2010 and led the Grizzly to back-to-back IAAM C Conference championships in 2012 and 2013, the first in school history. From 2007-09, Berdan was an assistant coach for both the cross country and track and field teams at Johns Hopkins. While there, the Blue Jay women won the Centennial Conference and NCAA Mid-East Region championships in 2008. The women qualified for the Division III Cross Country Championships in 2007 and 2008, finishing as high as 13th in 2008. While at Hopkins, Berdan helped mentor 16 all-conference and 13 all-region selections, including Patrick Brandon who qualified for nationals as an individual in 2007. Under Berdan, Brandon also qualified for the 2008 ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships and 2008 ECAC Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships where he finished second in the 5,000 meters. Brandon was also named all-conference in the 10,000 meters while Steve Tobochnik placed third in the 5,000 and broke the freshman record in the event at 15:16. A 2004 graduate of Elizabethtown, Berdan spent the 2003 season as a volunteer assistant for the Blue Jays where he helped lead the men to the Middle Atlantic Conference championship and a third-place finish at the NCAA Mid-East Region Championships. The team boasted five all-conference and four all-region performers as well as one national qualifier in Steve Sanko. Also that year, the Elizabethtown women finished third at the conference meet and eight at regionals while garnering three all-conference and two all-region runners. Melissa St. Clair was also named All-American after finishing 34th at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. Individually, Berdan was a four-time all-conference selection for the Blue Jays in cross country and was a member of four consecutive conference championships. He qualified for nationals all four years and was a three-time all-region performer. In 2001, Berdan won the conference championship and was named Middle Atlantic Conference Runner of the Year. In track and field, Berdan currently holds the school records in the 5,000 meters for both indoor and outdoor as well the outdoor 3,000 and 10,000 meters. He was a five-time national qualifier and a two-time All-American in the 5,000 and 10,000 while earning Mid-East Region Athlete of the Year honors. A professional distance runner, Berdan is currently in training for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials to be held on Feb. 13, 2016 held in Los Angeles. Berdan and his wife, Amanda, live in Owings Mills with their two boys, Evan and Colin.  

Camodeca mentored the programs first All-American in Devonte Williams who placed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Williams finished seventh at the NCAA Championships after being named the MAC Athlete of the Year. During the 2013-2014 season, Williams was named Middle Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Year in both indoor and outdoor. Meanwhile, the women placed 18th in the 4x100 relay at the 2015 ECAC Outdoor Championships. Over the last two years, the men broke 18 school records (12 indoor and 6 outdoor) while the women broke 28 (4 indoor and 24 outdoor). Camodeca comes to Stevenson from Division I Loyola where he spent the 2013-14 indoor season as an assistant coach. While there, he helped recruit and develop the Greyhounds' sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers and throwers who set new indoor records in the weight throw, 200, 300, 500 and 4x400-meter relay. In six years at York (Pa.), Camodeca spent all six as the head men's track and field coach and three as head coach of the women. During that time, he coached 50 all-conference selections in indoor and outdoor, including five CAC Athlete of the Year selections and five CAC Rookie of the Year honorees. Six of his athletes have qualified for nationals while three have earned All-America status. In addition, his male athletes held a total of 35 school records while the women were responsible for 27. In the classroom, Camodeca's teams had above a 3.0 grade point average each year. In 2011, Camodeca led the men's outdoor team to its first CAC championship since 1992. Also that year, he led the women's program to a second-place finish at the conference meet, the team's highest-ever finish. As a result, he received the second of back-to-back CAC Coach of the Year honors. From 2010-12, Camodeca spent three seasons as the head cross country coach at York (Pa.) as well where he led the men to back-to-back CAC championships, including the program's first-ever title in 2011. Like track and field, he was also a two-time CAC Coach of the Year while guiding three CAC Athlete of the Year selections and three Rookie of the Year honorees. He coached three individual champions, had two NCAA qualifiers and one All-American. In 2012, Camodeca led the Spartans' men's cross country team to a ranking of seventh in the NCAA Mid-East Region. A 2006 graduate of Goucher, Camodeca served his alma mater as an assistant in both cross country and track and field. Under his assistance, the Gophers set four school records in track, sent one women's cross country runner to nationals and had one All-CAC Second Team selection. He also received his Level 1 Certification from the United States Track and Field Association. As a student-athlete at Goucher, Camodeca earned All-CAC First Team honors as part of the 400-meter relay team which held the school record before a new mark was established under his tutelage in 2007. He was also a member of the 4x200 relay and the medley relay teams that set the school records indoors and outdoors, respectively. Individually, Camodeca scored in 18 out of the 21 CAC championship events he competed in while also serving as a team captain, member of the men's soccer team and vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Camodeca and his wife Lindsay reside in Baltimore.
