Ramer repeated as conference Coach of the Year.  Stevenson made the program's second NCAA appearance, and junior Emily Haas repeated as the NCAA Elite 90 Award winner. 2014-15 saw Ramer named the MAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Mustangs to the conference title. Stevenson made its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Womens Golf Championship, finishing 18th in the country. After boasting the first All-Conference selection in 2014, the team followed it up with three in 2015, including the conferences Player of the Year. The team also had the 2015 NCAA Elite 89 award winner. During his tenure as the men's coach, Ramer has led the Mustangs to the MAC Commonwealth championship in 2013 and 2016 and CAC Championship in 2011 as well as appearances in the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship in 2007, 2013 and 2016.  He is a four-time conference Coach of the Year on the men's side. Ramer is a 1971 graduate of Towson. He and his wife, Jeannette, live in Towson and have three daughters, Nicole, Julia and Jessica.

Jeff Smith

Assistant Coach

Smith helped lead McDaniel to the postseason in 2012-13 for the first time in school history. The McDaniel Mens Basketball Program was also honored the Schoenfield Sportsmanship Award, presented by the referees who are members of the Collegiate Basketball Officials Association.  During his time at McDaniel, Smith recruited, developed, and coached five student-athletes who went on to earn All-Centennial Conference honors.  He also recruited the core of the 2013-14 team that went on to win a school-record 18 games. Smith is a consistent presence on the summer basketball circuit.  He has coached with the Baltimore Nike Elite as well as Crusader Nation. He spends the spring and summer months traveling the country to coach in some of the top national tournaments.  In the summer of 2014, he led his team to the 16 & under National Championship at the AAU Gold Super Showcase.  Over the years, Smith has helped to develop many players from who have gone on to have success at all levels of college basketball as well as professionally. He is also very active on the camp scene, having gained valuable experience working at various camps. These camps include Hoop Group Elite Camp, Villanova Basketball Camp, Coach Woottens Camp, Will Barton Skills Academy, Prep All-Stars Elite Camp, and The Seth Goldberg Camp. He is the Assistant Director of DC Metro Showcase and Site Director for the Hoop Group Jam Fest.  Additionally, Smith is the executive director of Pride of Maryland tournaments and shootouts at Stevenson University.  Smith was selected as an assistant coach for the 2015 NABC Reeses Division I College All-Star Game at the Final Four.  Prior to joining the staff at McDaniel, Smith spent two seasons as an assistant at Cardinal Gibbons in Baltimore. Smith is a graduate of McDaniel College, earning his bachelors degree in 2012 and master's degree in 2014.
