John Stuhltrager

Head Coach

Stuhltrager, Albright posted a combined dual meet record of 201-42-1 from 2003-14, including a mark of 100-19-1 for the men and 101-23 for the women. He led the both programs to six conference championships each with the men capturing the 2014 MAC championship with 729 total points, a margin of 255 over second-place Misericordia. Stuhltrager also had numerous individuals experience success under his leadership with 14 David B. Eavenson Swimmer of the Year and eight Rookie of the Year awards. The Lions also boasted 132 individual and 49 relay titles while posting 17 championship records and broke a total of 28 conference records during his tenure. In 2011, Chris Sheerer became the first male swimmer in Albright history to qualify for the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships while Ralph Porrazzo earned two All-American honors at the 2014 NCAA championships in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Stuhltrager has also had success in the classroom with 14  In addition, Cindy Barner was selected as an Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America in 2005. Stuhltrager began his collegiate coaching career in 2001, spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Albright under Jenis Frederick. During that time, the Lions won a combined three MAC championships. Stuhltrager has more than 20 years of coaching experience, including five years as a YMCA head coach where he produced a number of district, state and national qualifiers. He also had success at the high school level as the co-head coach at Monsignor Bonner. A 1990 graduate of Bloomsburg with a bachelors degree in economics, Stuhltrager earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference honors four-straight years for the Huskies from 1987-90 and still rankes seventh in school history in the 100 freestyle and ninth in the 200 butterfly. Stuhltrager and his wife, Heidi, have a daughter, Morgan, and a son, Brenden.
