Evan Clifton
Head Coach
Clifton was the assistant coach for the men's and women's tennis teams at rival Salisbury University from 2013-15. During his tenure, both teams were ranked in the top-15 in the region during both seasons, combining for a 54-25 record. In 2014, he coached a doubles pair to qualify for the NCAA Nationals doubles tournament, with the duo finishing the year as the 20th-ranked doubles pair in the nation. Clifton also stared for the Sea Gulls, playing four years for the team from 2008-11. While with Salisbury, the men's tennis team earned a No. 14 ranking in 2010 and a No. 23 ranking in 2011. He compiled a 10-3 record. Over the last two years, Clifton has served as the Head Tennis Professional at the Gibson Island Club in Gibson Island, Maryland. The club provides a comprehensive, high-quality tennis program that includes adult and junior clinics, private lessons, junior academies and camp activities. From 2011-13, Clifton was the Assistant Tennis Professional at Oglebay Resort & Conference Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. He coached various juniors including highly rated recruits who are currently playing in Division III. A native of Bel Air, Clifton earned his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Salisbury in 2011.
