Bill Maddock
Head Coach
Bill Maddock was named the head coach of Suffolk men's soccer in January 2020 and will begin his first season with the Rams this fall. Maddock spent last season with the Beavers of Babson College, serving as an assistant coach to the 2019 NEWMAC regular-season and conference tournament champions. Maddocks one-year stint in Babson Park with the Beavers was a successful one. Babsons six-week stay in the nine-week season in the Top 12 of the United Soccer Coaches New England Top 12 and votes in the D3Soccer.com Top 25 were shining moments, but the highlight came with the teams first trip back to the NCAA Tournament since 2015. Prior to his time at Babson, Maddock served as the head mens soccer coach at his alma mater, Newbury College. The 2009 Newbury Graduate returned to his roots in May 2016. Over three seasons, he recruited 11 all-conference honorees and led the Nighthawks to a pair of 11-win seasons, which included a historic 2018 campaign that saw the squad capture the NECC regular-season and tournament crowns on the way to programs first NCAA Tournament berth. The 2018 NECC Coach of the Year pulled double duty while at Newbury. When he was not coaching on the pitch, he served as the coordinator of student affairs operations and spent five months as the departments sports information director in 2017. Maddock earned his first head coaching role at Fisher College where he served as the mens and womens coach in July 2011. He spent five seasons in charge of both of the Falcons programs that each rewrote school records in victories in 2015. His coached 33 all-league selections including the highest scoring female player in NAIA history, Julia Schojan. On top of his coaching responsibilities, Maddock held the role as assistant athletic director and sports information director. In addition to his role at Suffolk, Maddock serves as the Central Massachusetts Regional Director for FC Boston. Maddock, who earned his masters degree from Endicott College in athletic administration in 2011, currently resides in Southborough with his wife, Ashley, and their sons, Liam and Henry.
